Cryptic, I had never heard this Shotakovich quartet. The moto perpetuo quality of that particular movement reminded me of one of my favorite pieces by Hindemith for solo viola. This is not a great recording of the piece but you'll get the connection. Actually, this is the piece Lady Grey played to win her spot in the orchestra. Lady Grey sounded way better than this 19 year old lioness Cool

Wow, it is reminiscent of the Shostakovich. Thanks for that, Grey. Smile

I miss seeing Lady Grey here. :/

I am listening to only the echoing sound of my own thoughts. *sigh* I hate thinking sometimes!

Leon Russell "A Song for You"
Many a beautiful songbird have covered, but none have surpassed the composer's original vocal, IMO.

If you're in need of a good ol' cathartic cry, this should help things along.

Joe Cocker's "I Shall Be Released" at Woodstock. Absolutely stunning.

cryptic, this beautiful melody is right up your alley, I think. (Just don't pay too close attention to the lyrics. Volkswagon didn't.)

Oh, I love Ella and Louis together. Louis is my desert island pick, not sure if I've ever mentioned that. Wink But the two of them together is a close second.

Here is my alltime favorite of their collaboration. It's like a cake or a sandwich with all the best ingredients in perfect proportion. Delicious!
