complimentition - notable unsolicited frag compliments 😃

this was a previous blog post of mine. i figured its more enjoyable here, where we can add on notable comps as they are received. looking forward to reading your additions!

allow me to set it off with a few compliments i initially shared...

you cant walk in here smelling that good & not come give me a hug, get over here - the new girls in training said they like it when u gotta go over there to help them with something

excuse me, please tell me what ur wearing, i want my husband to smell like that - u smelling like the beach - i want a clean smelling 1 like that 1. can u recommend 1 for me like that, that u dont already have, that wont break me? - now i see why people like sitting near u

now, i know you guys have gotten numerous interesting compliments on your sotd.

never mind the gender or frag type, lets hear a few from each & all in this whole parfumo community.

Honestly, I've either gotten standard, "You smell nice," compliments or people say nothing. I suppose the closest memorable comment/reaction I've gotten was when I wore Vanilla Noir. A man in a nightclub followed me all night and kept calling me 'his Beyonce'. It was a weird experience but I'll attribute the weird behavior with alcohol and vanilla.

oh yeah, vanilla is that 'lure you in' flavor.

The only time I got a compliment was while wearing Scandal pour Homme I had a guy say he liked my jacket but I think he liked what I was wearing so I'll take what I can get because I very rarely get people commenting on my SOTD.

Don't often get reactions.

Once a waiter in a cafe wanted me to write down the name of my prerfume. It smelled "like incence sticks" - that was L'Heure Bleue Eau de Toilette

When I wore Ambre Fétiche Eau de Parfum my friend told me that I always smell good but this is the most horrible scent she smelled on me ever.

She was really flashed when I wore Dior Homme Parfum (unisex imo) - don't remember the exact words.

By far the weirdest reaction was maybe 10 years ago when I was wearing I believe 3 sprays of Chanel No 19 EdP. I was on a short distance train and the guy next to me tried to get whiffs from my neck which I tried to ignore. When we got off the train my friend who had been sitting opposite to me told me that the guy was struggling with arousal. I had no idea, she should have told me before. That was really awkward.

As a man, I'm always trying to figure out what WOMEN LOVE, not what I prefer. So lists like this based on actual real world experience is very helpful to me in finding fragrances that attract women. Nothing is a better conversation starter when sitting next to women at a swank bar or lounge. And women asking for hugs and such... even better!

So I'm curious about the scents you listed. Can you tell us...

1. What were the general ages of the girls/women who make those remarks? (20's, 30', 40+, etc)

2. What setting were you in when you got the remarks? (sitting next to bar, shopping, office, walking down street, etc)

3. I see this post is 6 months old. Have you added to this list of compliment inducing fragrances?

I was stuck in a Aqua Di Gio SOTD rut for a long time, until I was out and in a pinch tried something else (can't recall now). It wasn't my cup of tea, but the girls loved the sweeter notes on me. Lesson learned!

But, I'm generally suspect of these types of list, thinking that they may be more article fodder cobbled together from other articles, rather than actual research and data. I'd be curious what you and the ladies here think of these frags.

The most wow compliment i got was using Gucci guilty absolute and a lady at the starbucks said that i smell like a sexy lumberjack. 🤣

- “Someone smells amazing! Is that you? What is that?”- Molecule 01 (think I had used Maja bar soap in the shower.) Female coworker, and we were out, in Winter, on a cig break. Guess it cut through everything.

-“Oh, I didn’t smell it at first, then got a whiff when you walked by. You smell so good.” Female coworker

“That’s a really nice fragrance you have on. What’s that?” Male coworker

“Anybody notice it always smells really good in that part of the office? I like going over there.” Male coworker.
