Right now I´m watching Downton Abbey and I like it.

Before that it was True Blood and that was not really my kind, but not bad enough to stop watching.

The Wire, really, really good, still miss some of the characters. Embarassed

Twin Peaks, high recognition factor for me and it been a while, but I would love to watch it again just to see what I think about it now.

When I was really young (pre-teen) I cried my eyes out to: Rich man, poor man, Roots and The Hollocaust.

Oh yes, Alfred Hitchcock Presents and the Hitchcock Hour... just think of the episode 'The unlocked window'... Embarassed
Otherwise I admit I am a great Golden Girls fan plus The Munsters. The thing is I hardly ever watch TV, so I have all these on DVD. Wink

I watch almost zero television, but I will make my usual exception for Downton Abbey when the third season airs here in the US. The appeal is in the sets and costumes plus the fabulous Maggie Smith.

A few years back I became very hooked on Lost, but that had more to do with the gorgeous male cast than the actual program.

The Twilight Zone (the old 60s version)
The Night Gallery
The Munsters (the 60s version)
The Addams Family
Downton Abbey

Golden Girls
Hart to Hart
Carnivalé
Deadwood
Sherlock Holmes (with Jeremy Brett)
Hercule Poirot (with David Suchet)
Sex and the City
Scarecrow and Mrs. King
The Avengers
The Walking dead

I could list countless others but these are roughly my favourites...I am more the "nostalgic" type Smile

At the moment I am enjoying the second series of " The Hour"

Also, as a fan of the original "Dallas" I have quite enjoyed the latest series in all it's silliness! Wink

Here is a short loved one from the past that most may not have seen, but was unbelievably impressive...

Profit starring Adrien Pasdar. That was my favorite "evil" machiavellian character of all time on TV.

Melrose Place
Criminal Minds

X Files - Mulder and Scully

Hamish Macbeth

Taggart

Spirited (Oz series)

And I agree that the original Avengers featuring Steed and Emma Peel was way cool!

Quite liked Big Bang Theory until they added all the girls and I lost interest.

Original (UK) Office and everything Alan Partridge - cringe-worthy as only the Brits can do

Been watching re-runs of Dad's Army lately - even after all these years how wonderful the writing and comic acting is!

My oldies..
Twilight Zone (org, 60's)
Mash
Only fools and horses

Recent, or new..
House M.D.
Mad Men
The Soprano's
X files
The Fringe
Prison Break

I haven't had the chance to watch Downton Abby, or Homeland yet...but will get them soon. One of the reasons I don't watch much T.V anymore is, too much time spent on the damn computer! Rolling Eyes

My favourite retro shows :
Golden Girls
Bewitched
I dream of Jeannie
The Munsters
The Addams Family
Twilight Zone (the 60s black-white original)
The Night Gallery
Science Fiction Theater
Alfred Hitchcock Hour / Presents
Highway to Heaven
Hart to Hart
Murder she wrote
Remington Steele
Simon & Simon
Star Trek
Kojak
Dynasty
Falcon Crest
Love Boat
Paperdolls
The Cosby Show
Friday 13th (remember that cool red-head lady ? *g*)
Fury (I loved that horse when I was a kid)

(and a few more but it would take up too much room to continue *g*)

And here are the modern-day ones :
Sex and the City
The Nanny
Prince of Bel Air
Carnivale
Boardwalk Empire
The Walking Dead

In German television they have recently launched PanAm, Grimm and soon there will be American Horror Story which I will most likely enjoy alot Smile
As you can see I am more of a retro-oriented gal. I love shows that are much older than me.

30 ROCK

The brainchild of the only woman on earth I would rather be than myself: the exquisitely intelligent and hilarious Tina Fey.

The final scene of the series was just a whimsical, over-the-shoulder toss, staying true to the show's form of never taking itself too seriously.

The first few minutes of this video below are some of Tina at her best IMO (she's crackin' up Led Zepplin, for cryin' out loud!). Enjoy:

Past: A very sparsely watched and quickly cancelled show from 1996 on Fox called Profit starring Adrian Pasdar in the lead role of a lifetime as Jim Profit. This one made routing for the "bad guy" cool.

Present: Game of Thrones. A stellar conversion to the small screen of some of the best fantasy source material ever created in the A Song of Ice and Fire series of books by George RR Martin. Pinter Dinklage is a key standout as my favorite character from the novels, Tyrion, but the group cast does a very credible job, all. Also notable is the immense budget this show has... and uses so well to bring the books to life.
