Sandalwood 0

I’m looking for a fragrance where sandalwood is predominant. Something that smells like the Perlier’s sandalwood water but with perfume-like performance (better sillage and longevity). I love sandalwood scent in summer, simple and refreshing like some soap bars it reminds me clean skin and oriental atmospheres.

What do you suggest?

Thanks 🤩

Definetly check Bois Farine, Nothing but Sea and Sky, Santal 33 Eau de Parfum, Escentric 04 or Santal majuscule.

Thanks! I'm going to check them all.

The best I've found is Santal Précieux !

Elephant is a wonderful fragrance with a super creamy sandalwood.

"Santal Austral | Matière Première" is very nice

I'm partial to Sandalo Eau de Parfum as well as Santal Royal Eau de Parfum . Tam Dao Eau de Parfum is also worth mentioning.

Thanks for the references. I like No.04 - Bois de Balincourt Perfume Oil (cosy and long-lasting, I associate this one with the cold season) and "WD/18 | A.N Other" (with a delicious pear note, I could wear it at any season).

You also may like/love Samsara Eau de Parfum !!!

Thanks to you all for each hint, advice and suggestion. I drop down a list but I’m not sure I’ll be able to find tester for each of them quoted. I hope so. Anyway THANKS! Got lot of inspiration and aware of to me new brands I never heard before.

Diptyque tam dao and cdg wonderwood are my go to sandalwoods. Love them and have yet to find better.

Persolaise presented his top 10 sandalwoods last year!

And I have to agree (although I'm not much of a fan of Tom Ford's Private Blend line), Santal Blush is really, really quite something. Ridiculously expensive, like the rest of the line, but I do find it great.

The Lutens versions Santal de Mysore and Santal majuscule are beautiful but they tend to have a touch of culinary - strong curry in Mysore, and a hint of cocoa in Majuscule (this one seems to be quite popular, as the treatment of the sandalwood is soft and cosy.)
Santal blanc used to be milky/soft, but when it was moved to the (fresh line) Eaux de Politesse, it's turned into a fresh, airy clean-white-musk sandalwood, with a dash of spices.

Guerlain Samsara Eau de Parfum used to be The Sandalwood, but the current versions are quite different from what it was at launch, it seems to be polarizing now, with the fan-team and the ewww-team. They also have a Santal Royal Eau de Parfum; I can't remember it at all, but it might well be worth a try?

Le Labo Santal 33 Eau de Parfum is indeed mega popular, at one point half of New York was wearing it (can't say much, it's been too long I tried it).
Diptyque Tam Dao Eau de Toilette is also much much liked it seems; the sandalwood is interlaced with other woods like cedar and cypress - this one sounds like it could really fit your bill, as it's often felt as meditative, peaceful and deep.

And then the airy, abstract, dry and deliberately synthetic (to a great effect, I find) Comme des Garçons.
@Nimurai: I love Wonderwood but I never paid attention to a sandalwood note in there. What do you think of Concrete? I've never tried it but it's supposed to be built around sandalwood - and take it apart, removing the milky, soft, silky parts of the note and contrasting it with an urban smell of, well, concrete. It sounds interesting!
