LV Imagination reformulation... 0

I bought Imagination 2022 for the first time. The perfume was a fantasy, great durability and aura. Unfortunately, I refilled it a few days ago in the LV Boutique and the perfume is definitely not the same! It has a greener and very alcoholic opening. It doesn't last anywhere near as long as my last one. Then I ordered a new Imagination online and it disappointed me because it is the same as the refilled one.

There is no official information that it has been reformulated. Has anyone had the same experience or noticed a difference? I am very sad and disappointed....

They reformulated in 2021, I think.  Your first bottle may have been the original, even if you got it in 2022.

The fragrance was released in 2021. It was not reformulated in the first year of its' release! (Edit: check my updated post below) The way to tell, is to compare the ingredients list. If it has not changed, it technically has not been reformulated. I have a bottle coming tomorrow and I will compare it against the ingredients list from an official sample from a couple of years ago.

If you saved the box from the first purchase, you need to see if the ingredients list is the same between both of them. If they're the same, it has not been reformulated. Alcohol volume can make a difference, though and sometimes companies do change it. LV doesn't divulge their alcohol content, unfortunately.

So, I have compared the ingredients lists from both my newly purchased 100ml bottle of Imagination and a sample from a couple years back. The ingredients are identical and in the same order. Double checked. The batch code of my newest bottle is 4D01 and my 6.8oz bottle's code is 1H02. I'm guessing this 100ml was produced in 2024 and I know that the 6.8oz was purchased in summer of 2021, which was the year it was released, so the numbers at the beginning of the codes, probably correspond with the years of the current decade. Someone mentioned that their launch year (2018) bottle of Ombre Nomade has a code that starts with 8, as well.

**EDIT** After spending a week wearing my 2024 bottle and doing side-by-side tests between my 2021 bottle & 2024 bottle, I believe they've increased the alcohol vol., since the ingredients list is the same since launch, but it is different. (Maybe there's a reason they don't share the alcohol content) Not only is there now an initial blast of alcohol that was never there in my decants, samples, or my 2021 bottle, but it's not quite as potent as it was and it doesn't seem to last as long now, either. It smells diluted. I am not one of the beast-mode frag guys. I want decent performance because I'm mainly wearing it for myself and I want to wear it often and not have to re-purchase bottles constantly. I don't need everyone around me to smell it. I'll put the new bottle aside for awhile and see if anything changes. It's still a good fragrance, but it's not quite worth the price anymore.

Yeah, I can definitely tell my 2024 bottle has way more alcohol in the opening—it's a huge blast of it. The longevity and projection are terrible, with it projecting for about thirty minutes and lasting only around three hours on skin. It's truly abysmal that this is happening. I've been comparing it to a decant I used from 2022, and there's a noticeable difference. It's been five months now, and despite a lot of air exposure and oxidation, the juice hasn't changed in scent composition at all. I really regret buying this retail and am now looking into older batches. From now on, I'm going to focus on buying older batches of fragrances because it seems like most are being reformulated due to IFRA regulations, compromising the performance of what were once beast-mode fragrances that are now watered down.
