First Buy of 2025

Despite resolutions to cut back, not buying, etc., for those of you who do NOT have that resolution, what is your first buy of 2025?  Feel free to list a full bottle, decant or sample. If you ordered something last week and will be receiving it after January 1st, include that here as well!

I'm going on a fragrance buying fast for January. Not even thinking of buying anything until February. (My birthday is in February - hahahaha.)

If i ordered them yesterday evening (December 31st) does that still count for a first purchase of 2025? 😬 I got some birthday money yesterday and treated myself to Infusion d'Amande, Infusion de Figue, and Insolence Eau de Parfum.

Yes, if you received the actual bottles on January 1st or later.

I have a bottle of Nouveau Monde still on the way and thinking to buy a bottle new/used (from souk) of L'Immensité and maybe a bottle or sample from "London (Extrait de Parfum) | Widian / AJ Arabia"

I have stealth goals of starting this year off with a 3 month no buy. But my last purchase on the 31st of December 24 to arrive 25 was Patchouli Paris by Guerlain.

Let me know your thoughts on Amande! It's very likely that will be my first purchase of 2025 as well. 💕

I ordered Lolita Lempicka (1997) Eau de Parfum (the 2021 edition though), although I ordered it a week ago it won't show up until the end of January. I also just negotiated a trade, in which I'll be getting Fall Cashmere, so not technically a buy, but still new to the collection.

So many samples already 😳 mostly from Chapel Factory after trying Baptisma and L'Eau d'Épine and being pleasantly surprised!! Also ordered Cold Cave - Death and 7 other smoky/floral samples from Blackbird.

First full bottle was Bas de soie because there was an amazing sale.... I'm already tapping out of buying anything else for a while!!

Oh my gosh...if you would have told me some time ago, I would have laughed at you, but today I bought N°5 Eau de Parfum (it now comes in another bottle which is not in the database it seems, it's the same bottle as the one that carries N°5 Parfum and I don't know how to add it to the database because I don't know the year of this latest release).

But...I am astonished really, I used to hate this, but got a sample along with my No 19 and it suddenly smells like how I imagened the perfect scent for me would smell like..!! Who would have thought that?! Maybe it is because it is reformulated, I read many reviews from people who liked the original better...well that doesn't go for me. This smells like it could be the EDP concentration of N°5 L'Eau Eau de Toilette and that one would be the EDC concentration in that case.

I did ask for another sample along with it so I can still leave the new box and bottle unopened whilst using the sample, so I can bring it back if the sample would disappoint afterall (which I can't imagine, but - just to be really, really sure - I will use the sample the next two days, it is too expensive for it to be something I won't wear). I find it very hard though not to use my greedy fingers to unopen the packaging and to take that lovely bottle out...

If I will keep it, this will be my last purchase untill summer. That's for sure!

Despite convincing myself I won't buy more bottles, I came across a 50ml version of an old formulation of Memoir Man. You can't ask me to show restraint when it's a mere $120.

I will be wearing N°5 Eau de Parfum (their newest release, different bottle and not in the database yet). Still wearing the sample so I can keep the bottle and packaging intact incase I would change my mind.

But I still love it very much after second day's wear. It is funny how this seems to be a 'love or hate' scent while being compared to so many, many popular perfumes (often not rightfully so, but still....). It is in the 'smells similar' section almost always when aldehydes are involved .

Mine will most likely be either Olympēa Solar 30 ml or Daisy Wild 50 ml

Amazing Grace Ballet Rose. Tried a sample vial last year, LOVED it. Saw that there's an unchanged edp version and am now getting rid of my Chloé (2007) Eau de Parfum.

Lightly Bloom is on its way. I liked Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet (2023) Eau de Toilette, but it completely disappeared after 2° on me, so I hope this one satisfies my want for a peony.

I have some decants and an order for some of the Forever Florals line coming from Hawaii that I put in last month that are taking forever to get shipped.

I also have an online cart of things I'm holding off putting through until these decants get here and I can decide whether or not to go full bottle. The total is ~$150 and I expect to eliminate a few. 🤞

I expect I will be putting in an order for Fragonard's newest Fleur de Citronnier (as well as Jasmin Perle de Thé Eau de Parfum because I use that thing like a body spray). It's not yet available to ship to the US, but I also want to hold off until there's a promo I'm interested in. Slightly interested in Fragonard (2024) Eau de Toilette, but not sure how I feel about hyacinth.

Mine is a mini of Eau Parfumée au Thé Rouge. I had the chance to smell it at a relative's house over the holidays and it's so nice. Shame it's discontinued but hopefully this will give me a chance to test properly and decide if I need to keep an eye out for a (reasonably priced) full bottle.

Reporting back: my first buy of 2025 was actually Alien Extraintense last week as Edinburgh airport had got it in their selection really early 🤩🙌 Totally unexpected but such a pleasant surprise. But Daisy Wild was my second purchase of this year though so I'm predicting Olympēa Solar would be third then 😄
