Patchouli Noisette is very natural in overall, the whole blend is smooth.

Coromandel Eau de Parfum is sophisticated one with classy Chanel style.

Black Beetle Eau de Parfum is quite linear one, exceptionally bright and somewhat transparent Patchouli, not a weak one though. Raspberry is beautiful with Patchouli in it making it a little bit sweet.

Patchouli-Oud is very dark and dense, with Oud. This is the most masculine of these ones. Great for layering, especially with Rose Ouds.

Portrait of a Lady Eau de Parfum has one of the best Patchouli note, this Patchouli is dark as well. Of course you have to love roses, dark ones.

Ballerina N°2 amazingly beautiful blend, very unique, it's a little bit like watercolour painting - I mean if I'm thinking what I see when smelling this. All the notes blend together seamlessly. Like the previous one, you have to love roses but this rose is a gentle and pastel coloured one.

Straight to Heaven, White Cristal Perfume one of my favourites but very masculine, beautiful regardless. Very woody with nice rum.

Radical Rose Eau de Parfum has very different Patchouli than all previous one. It's heavy but not dark, nor bright, it's very transparent and earthy. Roses are voluptuous so not for the rose haters.

Elixir | 11 My favourite from Kayali, underrated Patchouli and roses with apples. Not juvenile like other Kayali's, not only "fruity scent". Bewitching and sensual.

Coco Noir Extrait de Parfum absolutely gorgeous, dark version of Coco Mademoiselle, not of Coco which is totally different. This extrait version is stunning even if I love and wear edp as well.

I could continue the list but I think here is something which you maybe like. Smile

Did someone already smell the new Guerlain Patchouli Paris ?

No, but it sounds intriguing. Aldehydes, iris and patchouli... Hmmm... I'm wondering if this is their take on the iconic Coromandel Eau de Parfum?

I tried it today at Guerlain's and I am disappointed. It's some kind of bulldozer, heavy and earthy. And very far from Coromandel Eau de Parfum

Patchouli Antique Eau de Parfum A bit campherous, a bit cacao, incense in the middle. An absolute delight. And a real steal too.

Even better if you can find the old version before reformulation. It has 2 little cherubs on the label and the bottle has a different shape, less streamlined. Mine is from the 90’s and the juice is still amazing.

Oh no... I really wanted it to be an alternative to Coromandel! Coromandel with Guerlain ingredients. Too bad. I like me some dusty earthy patch, so I'm still looking forward to trying it. There's also Patchouli Ardent which is heavy/dirty, so adding another earthy patch just doesn't make sense to me...

I don't like patchouli at all. To me, it smells like old dusty clothes.

but I love :

Givenchy Gentleman (vintage)

I don't really like patchouli as a main character. I prefer it in the background as a second role.

I like my patchoulis unapologetically dank:

Patchouli Noir by Il Profumo - gorgeous and slightly chocolatey

Patchouli Noir

Patchouli Nobile by Nobile 1942 - a little brighter and more complex than Patchouli Noir but still affirmatively dank in my opinion

Patchouli Nobile Eau de Parfum

Patchouli leaves 0

Montale Patchouli Leaves is an intense and long-lasting fragrance dominated by a deep, earthy patchouli note. Its scent evokes a damp forest, with woody and spicy undertones. The fragrance evolves on the skin, revealing sweeter, musky notes in its base. Its exceptional longevity makes it an ideal choice for those seeking a durable and characterful perfume. The combination of its intensity and versatility positions it as a popular option for both formal and informal occasions.

I love the earty, funky nature of some patchouli. At least, I think it’s patchouli!

I’m thinking about Straight to Heaven, White Cristal Perfume and Aventus for example. Will a perfume like Patchouli Eau de Toilette also bring me this?

If you want to try it out, the one you mention is not that expensive online. Reminiscence has another one now that is more expensive: Le Patchouli Eau de Toilette Intense I don't know if they are similar and don't know why Reminscense changed it's marketing strategy.

If you want to know if it indeed is the patchouli that you like in those perfumes, better sniff some patchouli oil first. Patchouli based- or forward scents can smell very different!

Patchouli Paris

Powerful, woody, warm, and invigorating. I’d be wearing it every day if it wasn’t for the price!

Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum Intense

Dries down to the most beautiful, earthy, smooth patchouli. I wear this quite often.

Lord of Misrule Perfume

Simple and straight-forward, but a very pleasant and easy-to-wear patchouli-vanilla scent.

I ordered a tiny bottle of Patchouli Eau de Toilette and indeed it’s not at all like the others I mentioned. It’s just not earthy at all to be honest.

I do have a bottle of essential oils here. Smelling the pure stuff is completely different from smelling it in a diffuser. Maybe it’s all about the concentration then, or there are just different types of it, I don’t know. Or maybe indeed it’s not at all the patchouli note I crave… darn this hobby is madness.

True, they all smell different! Guess it is also relevant with which notes the patch is blended...I've noticed that I should not take notes too seriously anyhow. I have some perfumes with shared notes that are comletely different, some I like, some I don't. I really think it is all about the blend. I always avoided rose, but now noticed that, in some, I love rose and that goes for vanilla too. I always thought I should go for aldehydes because I loved them in certain scents, but in some I can't stand the aldehydes...so....

It is all about sniffing and liking it or not...and you're right...it is madness..but...FUN 😃

Ok i was just wondering: what is actually the patchouli note? (Say the guy who just sprayed some Héritage Eau de Parfum ).

Then I saw some posts mentioning Héritage Eau de Toilette and I felt stupid. I had to use the research tool of Parfumo in my own collection, which rendered very different fragrances. I am completely lost here. Well, thinking of it, they do have something in common: I like them!

Tempo - dusty and not dank, a patchouli with mate

Ramble On - full throated multi-patch that gets better with age, great indie find

Battaniye - lovely patch dry-down with the additional elements of a little smoke and wool

Misfit - if you like a patch with amber, this one is perfect

Patchouli Intense Eau de Parfum - not just for the boys, rich and spicy, $

Patchouly Eau de Parfum - controversial one, patch with pissy animalics

Patchouly - a reference patchouli with a lovely choco cake element (tho not gourmand)
