Scent of the Night

Testing "Les Belles de Nina - Nina (2006) | Nina Ricci" tonight. Thus far it seems like Nina Ricci's perfumes fall into a similar category for me as Carolina Herrera's. Too youthful to actually be of use, but too lovely to ignore. And Nina's bottle designs... Ah! To die for.

That’s a beauty indeed! And age is just a number right Smile

Indeed! You are right, and I'd be happy to come across anyone wearing a cutesy frilly perfume that makes them happy, be they 14 or 84. It's just it's not the kind of perfume I'm personally into at the current point of my life. But I'm pretty certain that a 12 year old me would've loved it ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡

I am aware that it's not how many other people use these terms (and what kind of language is considered neutral could be a fun convo to have in some kind of a dedicated thread), but when I use the term "youthful", I don't mean it in a judgy or otherwise disparaging way. Youthfulness is wonderful! It's just not what I'm interested in conveying right now.

At this moment I'm more into things people sniff and go "well, it's nice but you also smell like my grandma". And I'm like "hell yeah, grandma-core"! Again, I know that when people say that something smells old or grandmotherly, they tend to mean it in a negative way, but I don't feel like that's necessarily so? Like, hell yeah, I'm growing older. Have you been outside? I think living long enough to be considered old in the middle of everything that's constantly going on is an accomplishment. Old is neat. It should be celebrated as a cool thing more often.

Hell, any age should be given grace and celebrated if you ask me. It's super weird that we decided as a society that any kind of age should have negative connotations. They're all different, but that doesn't mean that any of them are better or worse ദ്ദി ( ᵔ ᗜ ᵔ )

Beautiful scents Nina Ricci. Now I understand the goal behind my grandma adoring Nina Ricci, she just wanted to smell young and sexy 🫦

Smile If it is about your Grandma, I think she must have been wearing L'Air du Temps Eau de Parfum (a former version maybe). It is a beautyful perfume! One of my favourites! But sexy? No Smile. Just lovely like a summer's breeze...ageless in my opinion though some find it 'old lady' (gosh I hate that expression). I think it is not 'old lady' but 'old soul'. Beautyful!

Hey thanks a lot for the share! The other day my mom and I were discussing which perfume she used to wear, and tbh this looks very familiar to me. I will try sample it! Would bring good memories back.

I also don't believe in age for perfumes, I am a 29 year old fan of barbershop fougeres 😄 I guess the way and attitude while wearing them is the culprit of the impression they radiate

Really enjoying my sample of No.09 - Vallée de Farney Eau de Parfum.

It's getting hot and humid, the air is so thick, you can almost squeeze it like a wet sponge. The rainy season has started early in Kansai, so I wanted some beautiful white flowers to wear before bed, "Cap Néroli | Nicolaï / Parfums de Nicolaï" .

I'm not going anywhere tonight, but I still put on Sweet Tooth Eau de Parfum because it's so comforting and I'm feeling grumpy lol

Bloom Parfum, since it's a Gucci kind of day today. Too sweet for my personal taste, but I love the apricots in it. Cute and fuzzy.
