What to wear to a conference

End of the month there is a big conference where I’m heading. Lots of people, 80% sweaty nerdy male (that’s me basically heheheh). I want some fragrance to smell nice all day long but nothing too pungent because I’m surrounded by people all day and I don’t want to offend anyone 😁

My suggestion would be Dior Homme (2020) Eau de Toilette. Light scent that still works for fall/colder weather. Lasts all day and isn't too in-your-face.

I'm going on a business retreat for a week around the same time as you and I'm taking decants of Dior Homme (2020) Eau de Toilette, Kalan, Ombré Leather (2018) Eau de Parfum, and Armani Privé - Bleu Lazuli with me.

PS. I'm a software developer, so also sweaty nerdy male.

Dior, great suggestion. Kalan should be wonderful too. The others are a bit overpowering perhaps?

We usually go out to bars/restaurants at night after the work stuff is over, Ombre Leather and Bleu Lazuli are more for the evenings.

I thought Ombre Leather might be too much, but yes if you are going out a bit...
I would go with Bvlgari Man Wood Essence, my beioved Field Notes From Paris maybe Encre Noire à L'Extrême . Cherry Punk Eau de Parfum for the evenings

During the day, I'd go with something like:

Versace pour Homme Dylan Blue Eau de Toilette

or one of the Chanel Bleu's, whichever you prefer

Bleu de Chanel Eau de ToiletteBleu de Chanel Eau de ParfumBleu de Chanel Parfum

or

Legend Eau de Parfum

or

Polo Blue Parfum

They are all nice, masculine fragrances that are pretty likable by everyone. Legend and Dylan Blue aren't even that expensive. The Polo Blue is different in that it's quite soapy as it dries down, if you like that. The only thing is, none of those will give you a strong 8 hours. They'll be mild skin scents by that time. That can be OK, or maybe not. Of course, if the conference is in the same hotel where you are staying, you could probably get back to your room for a refresh spray around noon.

For dinner or hitting the bar with your colleagues afterwards, hmmm, it might depend on the climate. If it's in the south, might there be a chance it will be pretty warm and dinner and drinks might be on an outdoor patio? In that case, you might want a fresh, summer scent. That might still be the case if you'll be inside in AC - would there be a chance you guys would carpool to a restaurant? If it's pretty warm, a fresher scent would work better.

If you'll be in a more northern state with cool autumn nights already, a nicer woody or spicy scent could work. You could always control sprays, especially if carpooling. Something like TdH for something more woody (it has citrus too, so might be good during the day):

Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette or Terre d'Hermès Parfum or Terre d'Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver

or for more spicy, there's

Pasha de Cartier Parfum or Déclaration Parfum or Ombre Noire

or for leather, there's

Bel Ami Eau de Toilette (I don't think Guilty Absolute pour Homme will work in this case 😃 )

Tonka Cola if you're going out at night and it's non formal

Ombre Nomade if it's formal

@DrDre10 I might get something specific right there in the city as a souvenir so to say 😇 But taking Zino with me is a good plan. Damn I love that smell.
