...Your perfumes are gorgeous! I can only recommend them to everyone here ... (and I'm hard to please). "LU Donna" is a new favourite of mine. Will your fragrances also be available in perfumeries in Italy or elsewhere in Europe? I really hope so! Baci di "Gold"

Oh those lilies
...Have you tried the new Cartier "Lys et Rose?" Better than the original (which you don't like... and neither do I). Unfortunately, I'm not an expert when it comes to lily-fragrances...so I'm afraid I haven't got any other ideas than the above mentioned. Good luck with your search. Let us know what you found.

What's your ultimate pick-me-up perfume?
...O de Lancome or VRAI by Fragonard. Both are lemony chypres which I adore.

Decisions, decisions... this time it's about Mitsouko Mitsouko (Eau de Toilette) - Guerlain
...ChapeauClack:Gold, you mean Nahema will get the Wasser treatment? UGH!!! Gee, don't you ever get a feeling that you're trying to catch something that's running away much faster than you can ever catch up? So frustrating! :evil:Dear ChapeauC,yes, I heard some rumours. And of course I feel very frustrated, because I simply can't bring myself to love all these reformulated fragrances and many scents I really care for have been discontinued or given the "Wasser-watery"-treatment. It's sooo tellling the man is named "Wasser" = water in German. "Watering down" fragrances is his task, although I think he's not guilty, the poor chap. He can't help the stupid rules of the new "allergy-free" consumer game.

Decisions, decisions... this time it's about Mitsouko Mitsouko (Eau de Toilette) - Guerlain
...Dlane1953:I'd buy the perfume version if I were you!I'm with Diana1953. The perfume is Mitsouko at its best. I would also date the set back to the late 1980's/early 1990's. Just had a discusion on Facebook about the "new" Mitsouko. Many people prefer it to the old pre-reformulation stuff. Lucky guys! I wish I could enjoy the Thierry-Wasser-version as much as the old formula. But I can't. Btw, some people claim that "Nahema" will be next on the list.

...Cincy:Marilyn Monroehttp://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chanel-perfume-videoI prefer this to last year's Brad. Marilyn had a beautiful voice. I think it was "inevitable" that Chanel would use the material for a new campaign... When I was trying some new stuff at a small perfumery last year before Christmas, two males entered the shop and asked "Could we try the new Chanel No. 5 for men, please?" The salesperson responded there was no such thing. But the two guys insisted they had seen Brad in an advert and wanted the "new Brad Pit Chanel-perfume!" This was inevitable. Won't happen this year.

Good-smelling cheapies are hard to find
...Today I received a fragrance for free! Yves Rocher had an offer for Halloween, costumers could pick one product of their choice and add it to their basket as a gift, no matter the price and since I was just about to order some shampoo from their website, I grabbed the opportunity and chose "Comme und Evidence EdP Intense". The price normally is "only" 18 Euros. I hadn't tested it before, but in that case (without having to pay for it) - as a "blind order" and coming from Annick Ménardo, I thought "Why not, give it a try". It arrived today and I think it's a fine low-key chypre with less sourness than the original (which I don't like at all) and a warmer note ("praliné") which gives it an approachable, friendly feel. Annick Ménardo, of course, is a master perfumer, she designed this "cheapie" and did a good job. So what's not to like?

Good-smelling cheapies are hard to find
Re: A blind buy - "cheap" leap of faith
...Pipette:Cheapies - I will listen up. So, I ordered "Krasnaya Moskva" just now on Amazon. Not expensive at all, plus - open a store card and get $10. off immediately. I am curious about the "Russian Chanel No. 5" - the notes are to my liking. It is supposed to be heavy but dries down mild, we shall see. Yep, there may be some gems in those less familiar perfume countries, too.Pipette, I can't wait for your opinion. :D

Good-smelling cheapies are hard to find
...Apicius: So far, I have been waiting in vain that my Polish relatives bring me a bottle of "Brutal Fresh" when they travel to Poland. What a name - I am curious!Dear Apicius,we've got some "BRUTAL" at home, not the fresh version, though... - the regular one - and it is a herbaceous, barber-shop kind of scent - not as brutal as one would expect... I'll watch out for the "BRUTAL FRESH" thing next time I'll travel to Poland. I'm just as curious as you.

Good-smelling cheapies are hard to find
...I don't think that a good fragrance is linked to a high(er) price. There are loads of lovely cheapies out there, some of my favs are of East-European origin. Take "Krasnaya Moskva" by Novaya Zarya from Moscow - if it's pure perfume, you're on a par with "L'Heure Bleue". And it will cost around 10 Euros. "Pani Walewska Classic" is another example of a gorgeous cheapie (from Poland). Not in the least expensive. But there are also many mainstream-brands which come up with good fragrances, Angel Schlesser's "Oriental II" smells like an expensive Rose-Aoud-combo . Just today I'm wearing "Une rose chyprée" by Andy Tauer, not a "cheapie" in the real sense, of course, but the bottle I bought was small and not in the least as expensive as other niche-perfumes, whereas the quality I'm enjoying is fantastic. "King Solomon" is really good, I absolutely agree, but alas, it has been discontinued. I grabbed my bottle for 9.90 two years ago - and it's nearly empty. "Sex-Appeal for men" by Jordan is even cheaper - and will also do the trick. It's a fragrance my husbands enjoys wearing from time to time- and he always gets complimented on it.

A little help with Bandit please! Bandit (1944) (Parfum) - Robert Piguet
...I know this version, it was sold in the 1990's - and it's BAD. It doesn't even smell like the "normal" vintage Bandit from the 50's/60's or the Bandit which came later (2000) and is still available now. Bandit happens to be my mum's siganture scent - and we've been through all the versions. The bottle on the picture is the only bottle my mother never used up, becuase it doesn't have much in common with the strong, leathery Bandit she was/is used to. Rather buy a NEW bottle than this version. Good luck!

Jeanne Arthes Perfumes...
...I just bought "Guipure&Silk" in France (supermarché!) and I love it - it's very closely realted to "Hypnotic Poison" before reformulation. "Sexy Boy" is a nice copy of "Gaultier LE MALE". Both fragrances are very good quality - given the low price. "Amore Mio Forever" is a fruity-floral which comes in a pretty vessel, it's slightly reminiscent of the lighter versions of "Nina" by Nina Ricci. A blind buy of Jeanne Arthes is no risk. :D

...I like the girl on the picture, nice ad, beautiful face.. but I don't think the bottle is "iconic", amazing, beautiful... or anything apart from average. Now... looking forward to the juice itself, of course. Urban, modern... ? Hope it's not a fruity-floral again.

Looking for a new peach-scent
...Flavorite:Two inexpensive Peach dominant fragrances I know of are 1. Ellen Tracy by Ellen Tracy(beautiful and surprisingly complex for the low cost)2. True Delight by American Beauty (Monster Sillage)Thank you so much, Flavorite. I own "Ellen" by Ellen Tracy, but I think it's yet another one by Ellen Tracy, i.e. "Ellen Tracy" by ET is NOT equivalent to "Ellen" by ET. I bought my bottle of "Ellen" in GB, since this brand is not available in Germany. "True Delight" - never heard of it, guess it will be hard to come by here in Germany, but I'll ask some friends who travel to the US in summer to look out for it.

Re: The Parfumo Points
...Pipette:Hey, hey, hey - "inflexible and stubborn" is way too critical. Come on ... let me be as critical as I want to be...- wasn't it freedom of speech you were advocating in your post? That is the last thing I want to contribute as far as this thread is concerned. I'm afraid it drifts off into an all too familiar "Fragrantica"-mode. I've had enough of this in the past already.

Re: The Parfumo Points
...Greysolon:Exactly. Why would anyone to set up a system like Fragrantica's that seems purposefully designed to create conflict and petty retribution? I guess it wasn't done on purpose, it seems to be the result of a lack of intelligence. "Negative" reviews disappear from the site, since people vote them down. A stupid sytem. But... probably not intentionally designed. When Zoka started a couple of years ago, he didn't map it all out carefully and logically. The trouble is that he hardly ever gets rid of the "bad stuff" on his site. He just sticks to it, inflexible and stubborn.

...Cryptic:Without mentioning names, gratuitous derogatory opinions about the sexuality and sexual practices of others have absolutely no place in a perfume review. Ever.So true. Such remarks have no place - anywhere. I'm glad I haven't come across them in a perfume review yet...- don't seem to be familiar with the reviewers you're talking about. Proof of the fact that Parfumo operates on a - how do I put it without looking presumptuous - let's say a "more cultured" level.
