I once saw/met ...
by Seatonica | Off Topic
...Ever had a brush with someone well-known or famous? Your chance to share!Off the top of my head:I once stood next to fashion designer Zandra Rhodes on the Tube in London.I once met Katy Manning, the actress who played Doctor Who's assistant Jo Grant. She bought something at a house auction I was working on. Both these women are very small :)

Worst mismatch between fragrance name and scent?
by Seatonica | Perfumes & Brands
...Miracle by LancĂ´me. Sorry, for me the only thing miraculous about this pleasant but essentially boring pink perfume with its non-descript bottle is its popularity. But hey what do I know!?

I have been.......
by Seatonica | Off Topic
...I have been harassed by my cat all morning. He's done nothing but bellow and carry on while I'm trying to research and write a paper. I love him to pieces but I could also strangle him. I'm going for a wallk now so I can think and to get away from him.

Vintage Thrills
by Seatonica | Perfumes & Brands
...You are very lucky with your vintage perfume finds D, they never cease to amaze me. In the places we went antique trawling in the States what we mostly found was over-priced junk! Never came across any of those dusty old stores with old stock either :( Obviously you have the knack :)

Random thoughts on Reviews
by Seatonica | Parfumo Community
...Of course FF is right about reviews needing to have substance. So I'll add to my "rules" that reviews should say something about the perfume itself and have a constructive intention in saying it.Literary quality is of secondary importance, though I totally agree that text-speak is unacceptable. The balloon popping thing never ceases to amaze me

Random thoughts on Reviews

...IMHO honesty and clear expression are all that is really required in a review. Make it sound too hard and people won't contribute. If I had known about all these rules and expectations I would not have written a single thing.

EXILED! The stories from Defected Fragrantican Members
by Seatonica | Parfumo Community
...Rubyred has a good point. More reviews of mainstream fragrances would enhance Parfumo, but as membership grows I think they will come in time. Although my expertise is limited I should have a go at writing some I know.

I have been.......
by Seatonica | Off Topic
...I have been leading a virtuous life and am told I don't need meds for the cholesterol at this stage unless other risk factors are present. Passed a stress test with no problems, but the cardiologist says its not conclusive in women so advises a heart scan as well which will reveal the actual state of my arteries. He's a good fellow and I trust his judgement. But given that I don't smoke, hardly drink these days, am not overweight, eat well and exercise regularly it's a real bitch. My mother had heart disease and died at a relatively young age, though she had all kinds of bad habits in addition to the same gene I suspect. Best to err on the side of caution.

Re: No good deed is unpunished
...Pipette:I got an official warning in a private message from the owner of Fragrantica not to "solicit" any more. One of too many letters praising the lovely Parfumo site must have been either intercepted, or worse, that member which I recruited told on me
