Incense , church smell
ExUser 04.02.2020 | Perfume Recommendations
...MiaTrost:Hello Materijalmen, and welcome to Parfumo!Heeley's Cardinal is indeed lovely and I can relate to your beef with its performance. Perhaps "Sancti - Eau Delà" and "Abrakabarber" appeal equally and are more satisfactory with regard to sillage and tenacity. :)Did you try the last one you mentioned? Looks interesting.

Incense , church smell
ExUser 04.02.2020 | Perfume Recommendations
...Hello everyone, this is my first forum post, although I have been registered for quite some time.A wonderful church incense perfume, that intoxicates, is dark, opulent, perfect to go into ecstasy, it is: "Church Incense" by Abu_Al_Hifs, and it is also an unknown perfume, so nobody will wear your own perfume. Highly recommended and economical. :P First post and you advertise immediately? :PGuys, trust me, I tried, I really gave a try to many Heeley fragrances, but on me, they just do not work.As I said, montales full incense for me is too heavy and kinda dirty, also, the CdG series are not good. I mean, not for the price I have to pay for them. The older versions where good but these today are crap...

Soothing Lavender Perfume (Soapy or Refined)
ExUser 12.11.2019 | Perfumes by Note, Accord, Genre
...Hi mate,I am a big fan of Mauboussin pour Homme, one of the few lavenders I like and tolerate. It's a vanillic lavender on my skin that I find very well balanced and elegant. Should give it a try, not sure it's still in production but you can find it still on some shops or ebay. Cheers!

The scent of Tiramisu or coffee and chocolate croissant
ExUser 03.07.2019 | Perfumes by Note, Accord, Genre
...Exciter76:I haven't tried "Buonissimo" but it sounds delightful. I've read rave reviews for the coffee scents by Ganache Parfums. I have "Cheat Day", which has an exquisite coffee note. If you do try them I'd love to hear your thoughts. :)Thank you! I have tried Dark Roast and Light Roast of Ganache and none of them was what I was looking for. Haven’t tried Cheat day, is it still in production? I really recommend Buonissimo for every gourmand lover especially if you’re crazy about tiramisu. It’s my absolute favorite, it it only could stay a little longer.

...I love Buonissimo made by Hilde Soliani. It is the most delicious smell of a cappuccino and a chocolate croissant or Tiramisu. Unfortunately it doesn't have any performance on my skin, so I hope to find somthing similar with better straying power. Do you have any suggestions?

Dior Hypnotic Poison EDT - How do i wear it?
ExUser 10.12.2018 | Perfume Discussions
...Exciter76:My pleasure! I hope I was able to help.I haven't tried the newest bottles out there but I've used one from 2016 and it smelled fine to me. It was long lasting and just as beautiful as I remembered. But, again, hopefully someone who has tried the newest bottles can confirm your suspicions. I've heard people complain about the newest bottles of "J'adore" and original "Poison".Best of luck! :DI can't thank you enough.Thank you so much.

Dior Hypnotic Poison EDT - How do i wear it?
ExUser 10.12.2018 | Perfume Discussions
...Exciter76:There is such a thing as olfactory fatigue. It is quite possible that after a few days your noses got used to what you were smelling, so much so you stopped smelling it altogether. You and your wife may no longer smell it but I can assure you that everyone in your orbit is getting whiffs of your perfume. Twenty sprays will wreak havoc on anyone within a mile of you! :) My suggestion to you would be to step away from the perfume for a week or two, to give yourselves a break from it. After that break come back to your perfume and see if you're still anosmic (nose-blind) to it. If so, it might be time to consider a new perfume. Also, for future advice, sample perfumes for a few days before buying. You can always ask the sales associate for a sample; I know Sephora makes custom samples for customers if they ask kindly. Spend a few days wearing the sample and see if it's worth a full bottle. I've found doing this has saved me a lot of heartbreak and money.(Please, anyone with greater knowledge feel free to step in and share what you know. I'll be the first to admit I'm not an expert on such topics.)Both of us are thinking maybe the new formulation of Dior Hypnotic Poison is terrible. But we don't know until someone confirm this.Doesn't matter if you're an expert or not i really appreciate your thoughts, time and effort. Thank you so much.

Dior Hypnotic Poison EDT - How do i wear it?
ExUser 10.12.2018 | Perfume Discussions
...Hello guys, i'm new here.Recently i got my wife to buy Perfume for herself. We got ourself a list and tried it on, we had to choose one from theseJean Paul Gaultier ScandalJean Paul Gaultier Scandal by NightLancôme La Vie est Belle EDP IntenseThierry Mugler Alien EDPDior Hypnotic Poison EDTafter 20mins of discussion, we came up with a decision and both of us like the sweetness in Hypnotic Poison. But it was mainly me, i kinda force her to get it as I really love sweet smelling perfumes. Now, i regret and feeling guiltyWhy? Cuz the Sillage and the longevity is close to ZERO especially the sillage.1st day: 5 sprays + 6 sprays (night)2nd day: 8 sprays3rd day: 9 sprays4th day: 10 sprays5th day: 11 sprays + 2 extraAnd still... Nothing. For $194 its really not worth buying. We were tricked by the smell of it before purchasing. Now the question is, How should my wofe wear it? Like 20 sprays to last abit longer and linger in the air for at least 20 mins.I seriously feel like crying!

Oud ~ in search of the real deal
ExUser 07.11.2018 | Perfumes by Note, Accord, Genre
Oud - the mystery and the love
...Yes, most fragrances out there have synthetic Oud. Real Oud is rare and very expensive - one of the best Ouds are from Assam(India), Cambodia, Indonesia and Thailand. Nonetheless, there are houses which make perfumes with real Oud in it, mostly middle eastern though. House of Rasasi has some good offerings, so has Ajmal and also niche house like Abdul Karim Al Faransi.Ones to try (cheap option 30-40 US dollars for 6 ml oil - Oud blends).Al Faransi - Sheikh Al Faransi (hidden gem), Oud al Amir (sweet), Oud Hindi (bit skanky but gets softer after wearing).Ones to try (bit expensive, 50 ml EDP for 130 US dollars)Rasasi Boruzz series - Rooh Al Assam Oudh, Rooh Al CambodiOnes to try (bit expensive, 3 ml oil for 65 US dollars)Ajmal - Dahnal Oud Sukraya, Dahnal Oud AlhanThanks,Vineet

Best masculine rose fragrance
ExUser 07.11.2018 | Perfume Recommendations
For sensitive & strong man
...When I think of rose for a man, I think of Tom Ford Noir De Noir (and it's clone - Armaf Club De Nuit Intense for women) for the sheer mysteriousness and darkness that it brings, symbolizes character in a man. There are definitely more options which are more manly but this just is deeper than most. Keep smelling wonderful!

OUD fragrances "for dummies"
ExUser 07.11.2018 | Perfumes by Note, Accord, Genre
Excellent guide for Oud lovers
...Thanks for sharing the extensive information on Oud perfumes, Carlitos! This article contains such precious gems which most of us shall collect if they love Oud. Oud is genuinely amazing journey for anybody in fragrance community. This has been highly appreciated by kings, sultans and sheikhs in middle east and south east Asia. Pure Oud is rather rare and very expensive, but when used it is bound to do magic. The options you have suggested are treasured, and I would love to try them all. For me, Jacques Bogart One Man Show Oud Edition takes the cake, because of such widespread availability, price and oh my god! excellent scent. I find it magical.

Should perfumes be stored in the fridge?
ExUser 10.09.2017 | Perfume Discussions
...Thanks @Cincy and @ MiaTrost.Yes, this issue is probably many times before discussed and I agree with you MiaTrost about "chemists who happen to also understand fragrance; usually a perfumer".But , then again : even my vintage perfumes (some are over 30 years old) have never been stored below 15 degrees Celsius and still in perfect condition. But : I've bought the same vintage fragrances (which have been kept cold stored) and they are so much less/some would call it wasted after being sent to me.This was the main reason why this topic was posted : be aware when you sell fragrances which are kept in the fridge (from which country and how long is the shipping-process) because during the shipping the temperature is constantly changing.

Should perfumes be stored in the fridge?
ExUser 05.09.2017 | Perfume Discussions
...Many times in the souk I read 'always kept/stored cold', or in German, 'kühl gelagert'.There are some misunderstandings about keeping your perfumes in the fridge. I've been reading a lot about how to store them and there are some important do's and don'ts, written by the Fragrance Foundation. After all, it is a premier resource for expert fragrance information. Here is what they have to say: "It's important that you keep your fragrance protected against extreme cold or heat. Only colognes and toilet waters should be stored in the refrigerator. Perfumes should not be exposed to extreme cold or heat because either may upset their delicate balance. Notes can be affected by extreme temperatures."So, if not the fridge, where should you store your fragrances?Do store fragrances in cool, dry spaces away from sunlight:- Cupboards- Dresser drawers- Dark closetsDon't store fragrances in:- Bathrooms (generally moist and warm)- Windowsills- Direct sunlighthttp://www.perfume.org/health-and-beauty-tips/are-fragrances-a-friend-of-the-fridgehttp://www.perfume.org/all-about-perfume/how-to-properly-store-your-fragranceshttp://www.ebay.com/gds/10-Dos-and-Donts-of-Storing-Perfume-/10000000177632556/g.htmlhttp://www.wikihow.com/Store-Perfume
