Vintage Thrills
by Digindirt | Perfumes & Brands
...I don't know the Gemey but I'm sure that since you mentioned it I will be searching for it high and low. What fragrance group does it fit into. I'll try to find some photos online so I can recognize it if I see it the next time I hit the Antique Shops. The vintage bottles are eye candy for me as well. I just love the elegance and craftsmanship that was put into detail after detail. There are quite a few "Antique Rows" near me, I think I will do some hunting on my next day off.

...That is the ONLY reason I own the Bakir. It was a blind buy based on rarity. I kind of like the idea of having "old" stuff in my collection. I have always loved antiques of any kind, furniture, chandeliers, jewelry, perfume...

...AromiErotici:Digindirt:Olga1780:Ok, I guess I am the only crude one here....just ate out of a paper place my meal # 3 and tossed it the garbage. Tasted just as great as out of a fancy plate  I still have a bunch of pots and pans to wash from all the cooking :evil:I work at least 10 hours 6 days a week. We then rush off to extracurricular activities or meetings etc. We get home around 9 pm every evening, I don't cook like I used to, fast food or microwaved dinner mostly except on Sunday. We have approximately 2 hours to do everything --!eat, shower, pack lunches, homework, set out clothing, sign permission slips, did I mention dishes?Sometimes I have decanting and shipping obligations too!I need a personal assistant!Indeed. I've opted to have myself cloned so I can get 36 hours worth of &^%$ done in 24. There are times I have to force myself to do a review because I'm in a daze. I figure if there's 2 of me, I'll have enough energy left to actually have sex and complete chores after work. 8)I gotta figure out how to get myself one of those clones, not to mention how and where to get the Whoopee!

...@Seatonica, can you think of a specific fragrance that has been reformulated and you wish you could locate the vintage? I'm hoping to get exposure to other vintages that I don't know. I come across quite a few but am apprehensive about purchasing because I don't know the rarity, the quality, or the value.

12 samples, what would you do?
by Digindirt | Perfumes & Brands
...LiliumLibido:I'm a purist when it comes to testing: one scent three days in a row, period.I'm a little too immature Perfumista- wise to have this kind of discipline. One of these days when I am a lot more seasoned, I shall test with more accuracy. That day is not today. I am still a crazy, gotta try everything at once, perfume junkie. For now, I'll leave the rituals to the professionals while I douse myself from head to toe in everything in sight!

...I swapped out my vintage Joy because it just was not my cup of tea. I saw another bottle being offered almost immediately after and pounced on it. Swappers remorse is a killer for me. Recently I re-tested the Joy and BAM! I love it. I have no idea what happened but its a keeper for me now.I just like the idea of having rare and hard to find items in my collection. My Abishag and Bakir are the rarest I own I believe.

...EvaK:Smellsogood:Digindirt:Cryptic, I saw those people in my travels too. I sure wish I wasn't feeling the pinch, my shopping cart could have used some paper products but I'll just have to wash dishes. My poor dishwasher hasn't been used in ages but its high time I use it to save money on disposables. Are disposable plates and cups popular in the US then? We rarely use them in the UK, just picnics really and even then it's usually plastic stuff we wash anyway! :)Same here. Disposables are for picnincs only - a completely ridiculous expense. Plus, food just taste better when served on a real plate :wink:We use lots of disposables eating on the go. My son can microwave in disposables and make his own breakfast or snack. We very seldom sit down to eat dinner at home. We use them daily

...I would love to know more about vintages and what makes them special. Is it the ingredients, the era it was from, a special time in your life? Personally, I love the thrill of the hunt. What are the most valuable, sought after, or loved vintages in your collection and what vintages would you like to add to your collection?

12 samples, what would you do?
by Digindirt | Perfumes & Brands
...I like to test samples two at a time. Bedtime is best for me as I have the least amount of distractions. Spread them out over at least a week, you will appreciate them more. Trying on too many at one time leaves them forgettable because none really stand out. Have Fun!

...The name Sherapop comes with high ratings. I am often referred to her reviews to get a realistic and honest opinion on the quality and the notes of any given fragrance. We are very lucky to have her reviews at our disposal. Thank you Sherapop!
