Praise for Parfumo
by Exciter76 | Parfumo Community
Re: Parfumo stands alone as THE treasure trove of informatio
...Anessa:Parfumo - a hot tip as a treasure trove of informationNo matter if a certain website would call Parfumo a "nasty pesky copy-cat spam-website with trashy pages" or treat Parfumo's name as some kind of Voldemort of the perfume community - Parfumo has long been discreetly enjoying its reputation as the hot tip for one-of-a-kind information.Without bragging about the fact, Parfumo has been quietly serving as THE high-quality source for many perfume-related websites worldwide.· · ·Openly or not, Parfumo's status in the serious online perfume world has long been established.Kudos to Parfumo - let's continue setting high standards as the back-stage role model and the source of inspiration for other perfume-related websites worldwide!Yes! Agreed!

Dior Hypnotic Poison EDT - How do i wear it?
by Exciter76 | Perfume Discussions
...My pleasure! I hope I was able to help.I haven't tried the newest bottles out there but I've used one from 2016 and it smelled fine to me. It was long lasting and just as beautiful as I remembered. But, again, hopefully someone who has tried the newest bottles can confirm your suspicions. I've heard people complain about the newest bottles of "J'adore" and original "Poison".Best of luck! :D

Dior Hypnotic Poison EDT - How do i wear it?
by Exciter76 | Perfume Discussions
...There is such a thing as olfactory fatigue. It is quite possible that after a few days your noses got used to what you were smelling, so much so you stopped smelling it altogether. You and your wife may no longer smell it but I can assure you that everyone in your orbit is getting whiffs of your perfume. Twenty sprays will wreak havoc on anyone within a mile of you! :) My suggestion to you would be to step away from the perfume for a week or two, to give yourselves a break from it. After that break come back to your perfume and see if you're still anosmic (nose-blind) to it. If so, it might be time to consider a new perfume. Also, for future advice, sample perfumes for a few days before buying. You can always ask the sales associate for a sample; I know Sephora makes custom samples for customers if they ask kindly. Spend a few days wearing the sample and see if it's worth a full bottle. I've found doing this has saved me a lot of heartbreak and money.(Please, anyone with greater knowledge feel free to step in and share what you know. I'll be the first to admit I'm not an expert on such topics.)

Fendi Substitute?
by Exciter76 | Perfume Recommendations
...I assume you mean "Fendi (eau de toilette)"? I know, is there any other since it's viewed as a holy grail scent? I've not tried it but I'd like to! Your mother-in-law has excellent taste!I was taking a look at the perfumes listed as similar and noticed a few names thrown out there: "Rose Musc", "Les Merveilles - Velourosa", and "Gucci Oud". As far as notes go, you might want to check out "Knowing". The rose and spice profile seem to be in the same familial structure.I feel your mother-in-law's frustration. One of my all-time favorite perfumes is "Fantasia". I've yet to find anything like it so I've been forced to buy used bottles off of eBay. I'm just relieved prices for it haven't gone completely insane.Best of luck and let us know what you've chosen! :D

I want to have only one line

Re: I want to have only one line
...Zmajecar:Hey guys! New here, but Ive been into fragrances for a few years now. I figured out that I want to have only one line and I am concidering these:Givenchy Gentlemen OnlyMr. BurberryWhich do you prefer? I am 22 yo, law student.Would you recommend anything else? Please skip DH and Sauvage, they are not for me :)Hmmm...I'm not familiar with either scent you've mentioned. However, "Mr. Burberry" sounds amazing! I have tried and sniffed a few great men's fragrances that might fit that same spicy bill:· "Luna Rossa Extreme" by Prada· "Joop! Homme (Eau de Toilette)" by Joop!· "Raghba Wood Intense" by LattafaHopefully someone else with more expertise can jump in? :-D

Bring back Isadora of Paris 1979 ...Why discontinued
by Exciter76 | Perfume Discussions
...It's infuriating when that happens! I had a cucumber melon perfume back in the early 1990s when I was in high school. Not to be confused with the one put out by Bath and Body Works, the cucumber melon scent I had was greener, less sweet, and more refreshing. Sadly, I've yet to find anything quite like it.Can you describe your perfect scent? Maybe someone knows of something similar. Also, let's move this topic somewhere more appropriate...

Do you keep backups?
by Exciter76 | Perfumes & Brands
...Afreimann:I have back ups for loves and/or fragrances that are discontinued/ vintage. Back ups for me include: Guerlain Insolence Eau Glacee, MMM Replica Lipstick On, several vintage bottles of Eau de Joy (Jean Patou). Fragrances that I wish to back up include: Shalimar Souffle de Parfum, Fendi Furiosa, Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge Gloss.I've heard you sing the praises of Fendi "Furiosa" and I'm kicking myself for not picking up a 30ml bottle I saw at Marshall's when I had the chance. I know I sound like a skipping record when I say I'm in love with Fendi "Fantasia". I don't doubt "Furiosa" is just as drool-worthy. It breaks my heart that Fendi had jettisoned all perfumes from its portfolio.

The animalic bad girls
...Mrsg37:Bal a Versailles most definitely :)Most certainly! Nothing in my collection comes close to this bad gal. Week, maybe Tableau de Parfums' "Loretta" is a close second. It's pretty skanky in the best way possible. Leather and ambergris heaven!

Please advise a reliable niche-perfume store
by Exciter76 | Perfume Discussions
...I've purchased a few niche from FragranceNet. I've had no complaints and the prices are relatively reasonable. You might also consider joining the online mailing lists or social media pages of your favorite niche brands. Sometimes these houses have clearance sales that are advertised through their newsletters or on their media feed. For instance, Smell Bent recently had their garage sale where certain items were 50% off. Kyse Perfumes offered their coupon code via Facebook post. Many others offer deals this way.Lastly, consider using the souk function here at Parfumo. Sometimes it's easier to swap out or buy/sell a used niche bottle than wait for some miracle sale to occur. That how I've acquired some of my niche bottles.Good luck and let us know what deals you find!

The hobby of collecting
by Exciter76 | Off Topic
...@Oriane: you are absolutely right about that. I think in my case it's best if I mix things up, vintage and modern. Someone with decorating skills could tastefully create cohesion with all vintage pieces. I cannot. I'm Fred Sanford at heart!

The hobby of collecting
by Exciter76 | Off Topic
...Besides perfumes?I collect math books. Seriously. The older, the better.I happily hoard anything related to music, particularly rock music, and especially pertaining to The Beatles: CDs, vinyl, books, figurines, memorabilia.I'm a crazy cat lady so friends and family have given me cat tchotchkes and art through the years.Vintage furniture, I suppose?
