Rance Joséphine - Rancé 1795
by Eternity | Perfumes & Brands
...I tried some of them in a store but I didn't like them. Those I tried had a cologne touch...fresh, herbal and revitalizing. To me they didn't seem like "perfumes"...But, I got some samples that I have to test at home again with more time.

Perfumes that Smells like a Temple or a Church
by Eternity | Perfume Recommendations
..."Clemency" is an abstract and enstranging church with a cold superiority and then there are of course lots of inscense based scents e.g."Messe de Minuit" which is a sweet contrast to Clemency

...Could you point out to me the differences between the two scents please?I often read that the only differnece would be the opening, but is that all?I love Infusion d'Homme, especially the clean feeling of fresh laundry.

If you could have your own perfume/cologne ?
by Eternity | Perfumes & Brands
...If I could create my own perfume, I would describe the person I wished to be to a perfumista and let him bring this aura into reality. The mere content of favorite notes would never lead to a satisfying result, because the magical moment would be missing. For example I love musk and gardenia, but I learned that these notes do not make a scent. It can either smell soapy, harsh, creamy, charming, clean etc. I do not automatically like all the perfumes that have dominant gardenia and musk in it. I rather love soft, magical symphonies. I like to enjoy the complex orchestra symphony rather than a small band, whose members I know. The description of moods, landscapes, time of day and weather helps a lot as well. Referring to memories doesn't work for me, because they differ a lot depending on age, upbringing, culture and home country i.e. when memories are used for describing a scent, I often cannot relate to them. So to answer your question, I wished to create a scent that contrasts my looks (dark and tall) and which would make my inner self (e.g.light, humble and nice) visible. So the description of a wanna-be person would work best for me- and in my case that would be for example: a fair princess from a fairy tale, a bride, a hidden beauty etc as in contrast to the dark, hot-tempered, seductive, vane woman ;-)

Inspried by the Moon
by Eternity | Perfume Recommendations
..."Nocturnes" feels like little stars brightening up the nightly sky- nice and classy! "Broadway Nite" deals with the same subject, but here the stars are rather bright spotlights from big ads and shows that accompany a night out in the city- I didnt like that one! "Nightflight" is the seductive feeling of romantic longing in the black of the night-very nice, but actually a male fragrance, nowaday maybe considered as unisex because of its softness

Scents of Berlin
by Eternity | Perfumes & Brands
...Oh, that one is easy :-) To the picture that you draw matches "Narcisse Noir" perfectly. But we dont know, if the women of that time used it. Along with soliflors, scents with strong leather notes were in fashion as well, mainly for women

Perfumes for Hippies
by Eternity | Perfumes & Brands
...Oohh, there are so many of them. Often with a lot of spices, e.g. clove, cinnamon, cardamom, cumin etc. A noble and wearable example for a stilish hippie scent would be "Chinatown" IMHO :-)

Good movies you have recently watched
by Eternity | Off Topic
...I live with a movie fanatic, so I watch so many movies that I can't remember all the titles- that's too bad :-( From now on I will try to keep the good ones in mind and tell you about them. But btw, technichal progress towards high digital is great, but 3d is causing me nausea. So do not invest any money in 3d movies and equippment, because that is hard stuff and I imagine not anybody can handle that and might feel dizzy and nauseous like me.So far my favorite directors are:Clint EastwoodPedro AlmodovarThe Cohen BrothersWoody Allenand many more

Arab Perfume Blog
by Eternity | Perfumes & Brands
...Dear international users,as we already have mentioned two outstanding blogs by our dear users sherapop and aromierotici, I like to draw your attention to yet another one.To those of you who talk and especially know to read Arabic I like to suggest to take a closer look at http://www.aperfume.info/ As far as I know it is the first Arab perfume blog with a big audience throughout the Arab world. Besides reviewing and discussing perfumes, the best male and female fragrances are chosen by a committee each year. http://www.aperfume.info/2011/perfume/apdi-award-best-perfume-2010/Last year's winners are for men Arabian Nights by Jesus del Pozo and for women Belle d'Opium by Yves Saint Laurent. By the way, this blog has already talked about us and the nice features Parfumo offers e.g. the Parfumo trends and the Parfumo Assistant. http://www.aperfume.info/2012/perfume/weather-and-perfumes/ As you see the world of fragrance lovers doesn't know any boarders :-)

favorite Gourmand note
...Yes of course you can eat tonka bean. There are lots of dessert varieties with tonka bean, rather to be found at higher priced restaurants for gourmets. But you can do it yourself as well e.g. when cooking a pudding, you put some tonka beans in the milk and leave it for a while and put it on the stove, then the milk gets the delcious tonka bean flavour etc. There is also chocolate with crushed tonka bean in specialised chocolate shops.....mhhhh, I love ths flavour.

...I am no gourmand lover but I love the gourmand note tonka bean and amber. Ambery scents make me want to bite in the spot of my body wehere I have sprayed the scent on...smells to me like waffles, cooukies and freshly baked cake. But mostly I love tonka bean and my favorite scent with lots of tonka is "By Night White" by profumi del forte.
