The "OG"
by LouBe | Perfume Discussions
...I always thought OG was the original  as opposed to flankers. I thought it might be with a weird case choice such as OriGinal but knowing it's the Original Gangster is great fun! Thanks for the post!

Looking for a men's (or unisex) version of Black Opium (Eau de Parfum) - Yves Saint Laurent
...Hi Mitchraft, but why don't you go for Black Opium (Eau de Parfum)Black Opium Eau de Parfum then if it pleases you 🤔? What puts you off ? I don't know this one (but will definitely try it in a shop).I am really pleased with my challenging coffee-leather beast : Leviathan (Eau de Toilette)Leviathan Eau de Toilette (not really an aquatic monster but ok...). In fact as I write you I just feel the urge to spray it. It was difficult to find in continental Europe, but you may have more chance in UK. I got it through my US-based sister.I have a travel size of Intense CafeIntense Cafe, was not impressed on first application but I have to give it another try. Don't know of the Xerjoff, sorry!

What will Santa bring them?
by LouBe | Perfume Discussions
...Hi @ScentNebula, thanks for your contribution. I am divided here! On one hand I find it really sweet to give away your bottle, and nice for your friend, on the other I would like to encourage you to give Encre Noire SportEncre Noire Sport more chance. On me it has a unique chemistry. As for the vetiver, there is many facets in it, and you might have more than one. I am planning to get a "fresh" one at some point (at least a travel size) : Vetiver (Eau de Toilette)Vetiver Eau de Toilette Grey Vetiver (Eau de Parfum)Grey Vetiver Eau de Parfum or even Terre d'Hermès Eau Intense VétiverTerre d'Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver. And a travel size of Encre Noire à L'ExtrêmeEncre Noire à L'Extrême , but that's another story

What will Santa bring them?
by LouBe | Perfume Discussions
...Hi Mitch, what a lovely uncle you are! It's also nice that your niece knows what she wants! As for Boss Bottled (Eau de Toilette)Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette I understand you... I got a shower gel of it for Christmas loooong ago and it's a sweet memory. I may buy as you did a reformulated-to-death bottle if I find a good sale. I had a sort of clone with Scuderia Ferrari - Black (Eau de Toilette)Scuderia Ferrari - Black Eau de Toilette , with a poor longevity and I recently got offered a good cheapie also really close to the Boss Bottled, Poivre Noir JasminPoivre Noir Jasmin . So that slot is covered....Meanwhile my mum texted me in panic, my son told her very late that he may want Eros (Eau de Parfum)Eros Eau de Parfum or Le Mâle (Eau de Toilette)Le Mâle Eau de Toilette and how could she gets this in time for Christmas, and her parcel is already as good as sent (from France to Belgium) and... So I ordered a gift set of Le Mâle (Eau de Toilette)Le Mâle Eau de Toilette on her behalf, and it might be on time for Christmas Eve. Her parcel will likely be late anyway, and the kids are usually OK with that.Any other gifts from perfume -oriented Santas? Let us know 😃

What are your worst performing fragrances?
by LouBe | Perfumes & Brands
...TongyAcqua di Parma - pretty much all of them :( fresh as anything, but don’t last. Perhaps Colonia is better than most but still poor :/I chose for Acqua Essenziale ColoniaAcqua Essenziale Colonia for that reason. Fresh, long lasting and cheaper than the Acqua di Parma. Getting harder to get though. As for The One for Men (Eau de Parfum)The One for Men Eau de Parfum, tried it in shop and... passed because of its one poor longevity...

What will Santa bring them?
by LouBe | Perfume Discussions
...I was surprised today that my 16-years old son would ask his grandmother for a bottle of perfume for Christmas. It will be at designer price range I guess, and I am more than happy to help to chose (and maybe purchase it myself on behalf of my mom). A few weeks ago he already tested Le Mâle (Eau de Toilette)Le Mâle Eau de Toilette (his friends talked about this one), Boss Bottled (Eau de Toilette)Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette (my love when I was about his age, he had a shower gel of it last year). We gave them another try today and also Eros (Eau de Parfum)Eros Eau de Parfum (well, it was just ahead of us). "And what about Sauvage (Eau de Toilette)Sauvage Eau de Toilette ?" he asked (I guess his friends told him about this one too...) - Well dear it sure has to be good, but every other guy wears it"(His 10-years old sister, a proud wearer of OililyOilily tried Lucky GirlLucky Girl with pleasure but disliked Blue SparkleBlue Sparkle on strip).I will give him some samples "too young for me" (he already had 2 or 3 this way but I don't think he tried them so far).I guess Santa will bring him a nice bottle and grant access to his father's small collection. So here is my topic:A few weeks ago @KathrynA66 asked us "What will Santa bring?", assuming we were all kind and deserving the fragrance of our dreams: https://www.parfumo.com/forum/...(you can still contribute there !)But are you planning yourself to offer some bottles to your beloved ones? Which one and to whom? Casual user or trained perfume-lover? And... do you secretly plan to sneak some sprays from their bottles? 😇

A summer/ spring niche scent, that doesnt smell boring
...I finally got hold of a bottle of FR/18FR/18 (which is getting scarce in Europe). I can't get enough of that melon note! (I don't bet the gin tonic vibe, for me it's a blue melon if that makes sense 😉). I sure will enjoy it when it gets warmer.

...I wait for Field Notes From ParisField Notes From Paris for looong now, but it's hard to find in Europe. No. 88 (Eau de Parfum)No. 88 Eau de Parfum would also be great news.My sister just got me Jockey Club (Cologne)Jockey Club Cologne (impossible to find In Europe,or well maybe with something like 30$ shipping from the States), with a great Black Friday sale. But I don't know if it's for my birthday - November- or Christmas - and no, I won't ask her for Field Notes From ParisField Notes From Paris ).

Black friday weekend is here! What deals have you found?
by LouBe | Off Topic
...Well I guess in many places the Black Friday is indeed a "Black Friday Week".I have my eyes on Field Notes From ParisField Notes From Paris and Jockey Club (Cologne)Jockey Club Cologne . Both I tried an loved but the former is getting hard to find in Europe and the latter is impossible to get in Europe. But my dear sister lives in the US, and I saw that they have sale or the official website of Caswell-Massey so I gonna ask her and get it when she or her husband come to France. (Anyway it's a bit tricky : normal price at 65$ or so, with sales it becomes 49 $ but free shipping starts at 50$... a way of nudging customers to buy just that one more to be over 50$...)I whish you luck with your Xerjoff...

Cinnamon focused (feminine or unisex)
...Thanks for the topic and thanks all for the suggestions. I love cinnamon in every possible form (apple pie, rice or curry dishes, ice cream) and thus also in perfumes. It reminds me paradoxically of my mother, which happens to strongly dislike cinnamon. Every time she smells it or even just as the c-word is uttered she would frown with the same silly face and loudly say "Meh, I don't like cinnamon".I agree with @Nidodelia on MéharéesMéharées (now in perfume concentration 🤨). Noël au BalconNoël au Balcon is also fun, and regardless of the gender marketing, maybe give a sniff at SpicebombSpicebomb .For apple-pie themed fragrance (so yummy with cinnamon) see the blog post of @Gourmandgrl :https://www.parfumo.com/Users/...

Spraying perfume on clothing that lingers for days
by LouBe | Perfume Discussions
...Well, I have this on, by order of magnitude: 1) sweaters 2) scarfs and... 3) pillows (which make my partner laugh as she can smell my perfumes when I am not by hers). I don't have it much on jacket or coats (lower necklines?).Sometimes my favorite sweater, which happen to have a quite high neck has the nondescript smell of several perfumes... Time to wash it...But a few months ago I was trapped by a delicious smell lingering on my pillow and (favorite) sweater. I couldn't guess for days which perfume it was, which was quite frustrating... I was shocked to eventually realise it was Bvlgari Man Wood EssenceBvlgari Man Wood Essence all along. My first impression of this fragrance was in the "so-so" register. But I got hooked by this "dry down" on my clothes. By the end of my sample I was addicted (and would from time to time re-test it in shops). Now after a few months I finally got me a bottle. It is a bit of an intoxicating smell for me, but I am glad this mysterious smell on my clothes got me there.
