... Another fan of poetic, fun or nostalgic names! I also like ones with names of songs, or lyrics if both the song and fragrance are good. - Whispers in the Library and Soul of the Forest by Maison Margiela Replica -Memoirs of a Trespasser, Cape Heartache, O Unknown, Every Storm A Serenade by Imaginary Authors (pretty much every name from their line is a hit for me, actually) - Winter of 99, Blackmail and Unknown Pleasures by Kerosene - Morel Map and With The Candlestick by Clue Perfumery - Tears and Rock River Melody by Regime des Fleurs - Instant Crush by Mancera (my favourite Daft Punk song) - Fire At Will by Jovoy Paris -In This World by Liis - Dent de Lait and Le Participe Passé by Serge Lutens - Heist and Foreshadow by Curatrix - Wish You Were Here by Memoire Archives P.S. Can someone please tell me how to embed the in-site links with the icons into my messages? Thank you!!

Books: what are you reading now?

... Currently reading Stiff by Mary Roach, a history of human cadavers and their uses in various forms of research. Crash impact testing, body fields, anatomy labs, disaster research, things like that. It's very interesting but taking me some time to get through because it's a heavy topic. Mary Roach is a fantastic writer though, very entertaining. I'm also about to start Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer.

... The two I find myself wearing the most are Indi by Katy Perry (lovely soft white musk) and REM by Ariana Grande! I love REM so much, I wish it lasted longer on me- it's lavender shortbread heaven.

EXILED! The stories from Defected Fragrantican Members

... I defected and transferred here over the weekend. I hadn't been active on the forums since 2020. I liked the shelf feature and some of the reviews were entertaining; I already like the features better here. And I won't have to see Eddie's tantrums- oops, I mean articles.

Worst skin chemistry reactions you've had with fragrances

... I've stopped multiple people in stores and on the street to ask what the gorgeous vanilla they're wearing is, and they say it's the first Eilish... which I have a miniature of. It smells like cherry cough medicine on me. The real strong stuff, too, astringent. It's like the red berry and cacao notes have the vanilla locked in a closet while my skin takes them for a wild ride.

The most you’ll spend on smelly water

... The most I'd spend, in a situation where I'd already paid all my bills, would be somewhere in the ballpark of 240 CAD. Probably off of a discounter or secondhand, say if I were getting a bottle of something that normally cost $400ish, then I'd hop on it if I'd already sampled and loved it. I think the most I *have* spent on one bottle was about 140 CAD, full price at a boutique- the service was really spectacular and I'd had the bottle (Imaginary Authors O Unknown) on my wishlist for a while anyway...

Which languages do you speak?

... English and French! Canadian French, granted. I'd love to learn more languages but my brain just doesn't seem geared to it; I'm fluent in French against my own will, though I'm grateful for it. In my adulthood I've tried to learn Italian and Finnish, and a bit of Serbian. I know some vocab in some European languages due to having been an avid Eurovision Song Contest fan from 2009 to 2023.

... When it comes to expensive designer to niche price points, it's not only the scent but the vibe that has to be appealing to me. Chanel, Dior and Amouage feel similarly uninteresting to me in that way. Armani, Gucci and Hugo Boss all have a similar sporty flashiness that isn't very 'me'. I have smelled a lot from all these houses, as I used to work a perfume counter's closing shift during the pandemic and had long hours to myself with just the testers and a notebook for company. Nothing from these houses knocked my socks off. For designers that I'm more drawn to, think YSL.

... Seconding you on The OA. I don't dream of a reboot for Dead Like Me (early 2000s, Bryan Fuller show) at this point, but I think it'd be great adapted and continued as a book series. For non-fiction, I really hope we get a fourth season of Best In Miniature! It's a dollhouse making competition show.
