This is not a perfume, but a clever packaging trick to smell like freshly washed laundry, albeit without fabric softener :-(
We all have different ideas of how fresh laundry should smell for us to find this scent pleasant. Body Washed Cotton smells like when you only put a few pieces of clothing in the washing machine, then add way too much detergent so that it doesn't get completely rinsed out during the wash cycle, and later when you iron this detergent-laden laundry with steam, and that very steam rises to your nose, yes, that's exactly how this EdT smells. I really don't want to talk about scent or perfume, because it isn't. It's also not a perfect fresh laundry scent. In this EdT, the cleanliness aspect of fresh laundry is emphasized. When you apply it, you feel as if you just came from a sterilizing shower, where the top layer of your skin has been scrubbed off and you were treated with disinfectant afterward. I miss a cozy feel-good effect in this EdT, like when you slip into a freshly made bed. I miss the fragrance components from modern detergents and fabric softeners, I miss the deep desire to inhale. Everything is so germ-free clean, tidy, and impersonal. Perhaps fresh laundry smells like this in hospitals, where you grab a gown or something similar from a stack of perfectly ironed and neatly folded laundry. The scent serves its purpose and provides a small illusion, but it has nothing inviting about it, and as a woman, I certainly wouldn't label it as feminine.
Body Washed Cotton strongly reminds me of Blanche by Byredo, but the Byredo scent is even a bit more intense. BWC tries to be a notch softer and somewhat closer to the skin, meaning more skin-like. However, one could also say that you can find that hairspray note here as well, just like in Blanche. BWC also reminds me a bit of the shower gel from Reaction T-Shirt by Kenneth Cole, which I have, but I believe that Reaction T-Shirt is better.
There are people who never sweat. Do you know any? Well, I know some, and they smell somewhat similar to BWC. So one must give the scent credit. It has a skin aspect that presents itself quite authentically.
Overall, this is a scent for cowards and hygiene pretenders. But I find it quite good because I love clean scents, I like being cowardly, and I sometimes wear my clothes multiple times without immediately tossing them into the laundry basket after just one wear.
The scent is unisex. And I still smell a citrusy helper and something slightly floral in the direction of hyacinth, and a tiny hint of violet and rose.

My washing machine mercilessly shows me when I've overdosed. :) Fresh laundry only smells good when it's dried outside, in my opinion, and BWC seems far from that. Very vivid description!
@Lolle... *laughing*... :-) @Louce... oh my god, I have so much to iron, no time for the bed linens and I'm too lazy! @Inge, still testing it since the scent has only been with Mom for a day :-)
