I grew up among brothers and mainly with my father.
With my brothers, I fought endless battles as a child. Ultimately, I learned to assert myself, to be heard, and not to give up.
One could certainly say that I was well prepared for life.
Still, there was always one thing in my youth for which I never had a real answer:
What does it mean for me to be a woman?
In my family, I never really had a female role model.
So I had to somehow develop my own understanding of 'womanhood'.
Well, by now I am an adult and have long left the insecurities of my teenage years behind. What does all this have to do with a perfume?
Mon Guerlain is, for me, the epitome of what (in my mind) constitutes a part of that mysterious femininity that I always sought in my youth.
When I wear it and the balanced notes of vanilla, lavender, and sandalwood envelop me, I feel sensual, elegant, and feminine.
For me, the scent reflects a loving, comforting, and warm part of femininity that I did not experience in my youth. It feels gentle, warm, aromatic, well-groomed, and incredibly balanced.
About the fragrance itself:
Right after spraying, I perceive a juicy mandarin, mind you, not a clementine, but a sweet, ripe mandarin.
Accompanied by a subtle lavender note, the zestiness of the mandarin quickly transitions into warmer notes.
I sense a velvety sweetness, gently underscored by the spice of lavender.
Perfectly balanced, the fragrance gradually becomes deeper and warmer.
Slowly, I smell the vanilla coming to the forefront, enveloped by sandalwood and patchouli. The vanilla is warm, not shrill.
The scent feels rounded, never too overpowering but close to the skin, caressing, and soothing.
It lasts about 6 hours on my skin and provides me with little pleasant scent clouds that make me dream or help me recharge my self-confidence. I also love wearing it in the evenings and while sleeping. For me, it's a true all-rounder.
I am very happy to have found Mon Guerlain.
The scent will definitely suit you wonderfully. When I spray it, I smell something masculine (like your brothers), and then it turns feminine on me. It even reminds me of my dear grandmother. You described it even better. Enjoy smelling what you've been missing. I wholeheartedly wish you this fragrance.
