Honey, I’m home

I really cannot recall how this fragrance fell on my radar, but I’m so ecstatic that it did. Guerlain is a house that I am slowly warming up to (and you must be thinking, “is she absolutely mental? Guerlain is one of the best fragrance houses on the market!”). Go easy on me please. I’ve tried a good amount of them, and do you ever get the feeling that some scents just aren’t made for you? That’s been most of my experiences. However, this limited edition gem checks lots of boxes for me.

The star player of this green queen is that orange blossom honey. Honey is an incredibly versatile note in fragrances for many reasons. It can be sweet, it can be dirty/animalic, it can be ambery, etc. But rarely have I seen a floral-focused honey or a honey that wasn’t paired with herbals, grains, etc. In Haverst NV, the honey is both sweet and green. Along with the bitter neroli, makes the scent feel very natural and solar. The vetiver calmly creeps in as the scent dries down, and provides some earthiness. It’s such a simplistic composition with lots of body and grace, reminiscent of a semi-sweet white wine. I can’t imagine a better time to wear this than in the hot, sweltering heat.

I was able to find a bottle of this on eBay, as it’s no longer in production. It took me about two tries to understand the beauty that this fragrance is. For an EDT, it performs fairly well - but I’ll admit, I do spray a bit heavier for these types of fragrances. I can’t believe that I accidentally found one of the most beautifully crafted honey scents ever, and one that sings of summer.
