Much has been said about Voyage over time, fact is : I keep coming back to it every summer and have done so for the last couple of years.
I dunno about reformulations, but this review is for the older bottle with a metallic cap. But how does it smell? Well, without going into a scientific explanation you could call it a blue, aquatic, fruity and slightly salty scent. Nothing outstanding, but fresh without the usual citrus starting component and very uplifting. Opening with cantaloupe melon and apple, after a shorter floral performance in the heart (lotus maybe?) it stays linear most of the time, but later on it gets a little deeper with some (laundry like) musk with calone and woods appearing.
I can see that this scent is one that divides opinions here. Personally, I do get the slightly synthetic vibe this gives off, but honestly it still smells really fresh and with an exceptional performance for at summer cheapie, (I consistently get about 8 hours of performance with about 4 hours of projection) I find it really hard to be slagging this fine composition by Maurice Roucel which is also a steal for the price.
Clean, fresh and specifically tuned for warmer spring and summer days. This is a Voyage worth taking!
