A Little Less Sweet, Then......
Dear Precious generously sent me a bottle of Caribbean Vanilla some time ago, thank you once again for that. She knows that I would love to have "THE" coffee scent in my collection.
I prefer my coffee as a coffee crema with a little splash of milk and no sugar. Sometimes I also enjoy a classic cappuccino or a dollop of whipped cream on my coffee - but please not that ready-made stuff from the spray can, yuck. And only the scent of aromatic, hot coffee occasionally makes me crave a cigarette again. But I know, if I give in to that craving, I’ll be a smoker out of addiction and not out of enjoyment.... so I refrain. Ultimately, I love coffee even without a cigarette - and that’s a good thing.
Strong, aromatic coffee, spiced with a hint of chocolate, plenty of vanilla, and so much brown sugar that the spoon gets stuck. That’s how Caribbean Vanilla smells from start to finish. I would simply classify this fragrance as a gourmand. The longevity is quite good, the sillage rather modest. And for guys who like sweetened coffee, this scent is definitely not a bad choice. In freezing temperatures, I can well imagine wearing this scent while strolling through the Christmas market. It warms the heart and lifts the spirits. However, Caribbean Vanilla will not be "my" coffee scent. Even though I can handle sweet fragrances much better now, this one is just a tad too sweet for me. The price-performance ratio is also impressive at around 15 euros for 100 ml, what could go wrong there? I’ve had much more expensive coffee scents that were by no means better.
In conclusion, all this coffee talk reminds me of an affected ex-colleague, it’s been a long time. On her desk stood a card box, during her vacation I was looking for a phone number for her boss and hoped to find it there. I didn’t, the box only contained handwritten and alphabetically arranged names of "important" people. Phone numbers or similar were not noted, the cards were merely marked with notes like this: “...Müller, M.: strong coffee, two sugar cubes, warm milk, also happy to have a cookie without chocolate”..... etc. etc.

As a perfume... uuuah. No. Better not. Especially not with sugar. Coffee should always be hot, black, and strong :-))
