Hide and Seek in the Grass

Don't let my statement discourage you - the fragrance is by no means bad, but it did irritate me quite a bit at first. The name almost conjures up a fluffy, cozy marshmallow scent (Guimauve=Marshmallow) and I was curious how that would work - considering the lush herbal-floral-spicy-woody fragrance pyramid.

Well, it didn't work immediately. The scent actually starts off green and herbal, and only then does the warm sweetness come in, lingering on the skin for a while without changes. This note is not sticky or overpowering, but inviting and indeed reminiscent of a dessert - like marshmallow or cotton candy. Unfortunately, the woody base notes are barely perceptible to me.

The fragrance lasts about 7 hours on my skin, with moderate projection and sillage. On clothing, the scent lasts significantly longer and remains consistently pleasant.

So, my verdict is mixed - the fragrance initially hid its gourmand nature from me and showed me a long herbal-spicy tongue, the rascal! However, its marshmallow heart is in the right place and willingly provides several hours of cozy sweet warmth.

If you're looking for a cleaner and finer version of a Guimauve scent that lasts a bit longer on the skin, albeit at a significantly higher price, you might find this one appealing: Guimauve de Noël/31

For me, it smelled extremely sweet and like orange honey... I had to wash it off. Still, I really enjoyed reading your assessment.

All three fragrances in this perfume trio are wonderfully described, and their scents are conveyed very vividly. I enjoyed reading all three reviews!

You've reviewed it nicely. I remember it from the Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La days. They were all not really my thing. But I do find the bottles very pretty.
