Campfire in the woods
It took me some time to appreciate this scent. Definitely not for those looking for a crowd pleaser. This is a smoldering campfire in a bottle.
The opening is very sharp, pungent, and intense. Frankly the opening is a little rough and off-putting. After about 5 minutes it settles into a smoky, woody, slightly resenious scent with great longevity and projection.
This fragrance is really good for layering with other fragrances that you want to give some pop or depth to. Layering with this can also add some dimension to some of the more linier or boring frags in your collection.
This is a must for those that like bold and unique fragrances.

Dry Needle Forests in the Mid-South
In the research/filtering for specific ingredients, one comes across many unknown fragrances. When I was searching for cedar juniper, a favorite was "Texas on Fire." With birch tar, cedar juniper, labdanum, vanilla, and Texas cedar! It sounded like a home run to me. At that time, only the aftershave splash was listed here. But fortunately, I found out on the manufacturer's homepage that almost all fragrances are also available as EdT.

Currently, 98 (!) fragrances from Stirling Soap are listed on Parfumo.de. In contrast, there is only a single (!) review. This constantly reminds one of how infinite the fragrance universe is. Because the shop's presentation and the variety of products (soap, after shave, shampoo, deodorant, balm, lotion, etc.) do not suggest a struggling backyard soap maker. Apparently, the company does not seem so insignificant and small in the southern USA.

The focus emphasizes a connection to nature, sustainability, and groundedness. And when you see the couple behind it, you believe this branding. Very far away from Dubai, Paris, and London, from glitter and glamour.

And just as rustic, wild, and unpretentious smells Texas on Fire. The opening is very smoky, combined with resinous coniferous wood. Pleasant and by no means suffocating or close to choking. Then the smoke dissipates, making way for an unusually dark, earthy quality. A truly interesting twist that labdanum demands from the three robust woods here. Yet we always remain on the dry southern slope of the needle forest. So we have worked our way down from the trunk/wood to the roots or the earth. This is pale and dry on the surface and only becomes moister and peatier after a few decimeters. Fresh, healthy forest soil indeed!

22.95 $ for 50 ml EdT. I haven't seen that in a long time. The strength and longevity are absolutely fine. The sillage is medium to subtle. The bottle, while not a visual delight with its green glass, functions flawlessly. And for this price, one can make some concessions. The bottle comes in a simple box that also emphasizes the reduction of frills. And thus, the circle closes regarding the philosophy of Roderick and Amanda Lovan. Natural, cosmetic products for little money and for everyone.

Vanilla and a big dose of Texas cedarwood. That's the scent of a forest fire in Texas. Birch tar simmers pleasantly.

After we noticed the smoke, we climbed down the trunk with the resinous bark, to the black, damp, warm peat at the roots.
