Many Italians who grew up in the countryside have a very close relationship with fig trees. They're a common sight in fields, woods and gardens and provide both shade and yummy fruits in the scorching summers. This perfume is an almost perfect photograph of my summer and autumn afternoons spent in my grandpa's garden when I was a kid, playing around a huge fig tree with my younger cousins and their dogs.
The fragrance opens with green leaves, you can almost feel the fuzziness of the fig leaves. In the heart a sticky, natural sweetness comes forward, well supported by a hint of wood. With time, it develops in a mature, creamy, ripe fig. It's never overly sweet or synthetic.
It makes me feel both carefree and nostalgic, and, on a rainy day, a bit of a bittersweet melancholy.
To me, this is the perfect fig fragrance. It's not extremely long lasting, but it's so unoffensive to anybody that you can dare to overspray. I really hope more people will discover this wonderful fragrance.
