It's raining here, so I figured today would be the perfect day to try out my sample of Petrichor. Unfortunately, the atomizer didn't seem to be working, and I couldn't for the life of me unscrew it to see what was wrong with it. Eventually I managed to pry it open just enough to kinda dab the fragrance on from the crack, but I might not be getting the full experience, since this is meant to be atomized. Keep that in mind during this review.
Petrichor is a rather simple scent. What it smells like upon application is pretty much what it smells like, and it isn't a particularly long-lasting fragrance. That said, it delivers pretty much what it says on the tin: soil right after it rains. Like, if you were to walk through a forest post rainstorm, you would smell this almost exactly. As someone who has spent a fair amount of time around nature, I can appreciate the artistry of this and I do rather enjoy the dreamy, nostalgic quality of it. But that photorealism doesn't make for a particularly wearable scent in my opinion. There's a bit of a mustiness to it on my skin that doesn't make it particularly pleasing to me, personally. I'm glad I tried it, but I don't think this is a full bottle purchase for me.
