Any notes on how a fragrance progressed from no to yes?

... This was def "Nanban | Arquiste" for me. When I received my sample I have no idea what happened but when I first smelled it it had this REALLY sharp animalic note, reminiscent of sour spit, maybe even kinda urine-y. Super awful. I convinced myself that I just need to give it a second and third and fourth try, and now this sour note is completely gone?? Dont get me wrong, there is an animalic tinge to this perfume, but its way subtle and honestly very appealing. This is now one of my most favorite, if not my MOST favorite fragrance ever. Its just so dark and alluring and mysterious- very goth. Im in love.

... Hiya! Im Rhody! Im somewhat new to the hobby but it SERIOUSLY clicked with me 'cause I'm a connoisseur of coffees and teas! I've managed to train my palette by blind tasting coffees for years and picking out notes- and Iv gotten pretty good at it! This skill naturally translated to fragrances, and I love it. Iv always been tangentially curious about perfumes and stuff cause like, who doesnt wanna smell good? And as soon as I found out about niches I was hooked! Dont get me wrong, I love the few designers Iv gotten my hands on, but Im a niche guy looking to smell things Iv never smelled before. About 90% of my collection are all travel-sized decants, which I blind buy, because I am unwise . Otherwise, Im a queer furry artist from south Texas! I love rats- and for all you know I actually am a giant cartoon rat man in real life. Aint that neat? 💖🐀💖
