Interesting Facts
Kaya is a coconut jam made from sugar, eggs and coconut milk, which is widely consumed throughout South-East Asia (particularly in Malaysia and Singapore). To make it, all the ingredients are first mixed together thoroughly and then stirred over a low heat until the sugar has completely caramelised and the mixture has thickened. The caramelised sugar gives the jam a reddish to brown colour.
