The Shingo pear is a Korean variety of the nashi pear. It has a rather round shape and its flavour is described as mild and sweet, with subtle, honey-like notes. It is now the best-selling variety of nashi pear in Korea, but it originally comes from Japan, where it is known as Niitaka.
