The Spiked ginger lily (bot. Hedychium spicatum) belongs to the Ginger lily family and is found from the Himalayas to southern and central China. Its essential oil has a scent similar to that of hyacinths, and the dried rhizome is used as incense in Ethiopia. This species is also used in traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine.
