Cocco Mint from 1973 evokes strong associations for me with candies I remember from my youth.
There were these candies with a mint flavor and a slightly liquid chocolate filling.
I believe they were called Mint Chocs. Just like those candies tasted and smelled, that’s how Cocco Mint smells to me.
The fragrance starts off with a quite intense mint. Alongside it, I immediately sense a relatively prominent chocolate note. I had a similar experience with Sweet Coconut.
There, it was the strong combination of coconut and chocolate. Here, it’s a strong combination of mint and chocolate.
Somehow, there’s also a partially undefinable sharp impression that bothers me a bit. I had a similar experience, for example, with Fig & Caramel from 1973. This could give me a slight headache.
The scent progression feels quite linear to me. Many other notes that are listed seem to be just supporting players that complement the fragrance.
Mainly, it revolves around mint, chocolate, and cocoa.
The cocoa also contributes to that chocolatey impression.
The performance is solid to good.
The scent lasts on my skin for about 7-8 hours. The projection is quite intense at the beginning.
I would categorize the fragrance as unisex.
