Two fundamental thoughts on Geza Schön's renewed commissioned work for the Cologne-based brand, one hesitant, one euphoric.

First, the hesitation:
If anything, only nuances in the scent are bothersome; one is the memory of the original 4711 (too traditional, too unisex, fortunately only minimal), the other is the closeness to certain bath additives. The association with 4711 would be a dealbreaker for me if it were more pronounced... Fortunately, it is a distinctly independent fragrance.
The scent can’t really be blamed for my bath additive association, as this is something that cannot be avoided with this theme.
The same goes for every citrus scent, which always has to balance precariously near toilet cleaners. This doesn’t mean that every citrus scent smells like Mr. Clean, but there is indeed a thematic proximity. And there are hundreds of bathroom products themed around coniferous forests, for which this scent cannot be held responsible just because it touches on the theme. So much for my concerns, which, as you can see, are quite limited.

The cause of my euphoria can be traced back to the summer of 2018.
For the first time in Sweden, as I left the plane in Stockholm, I was enveloped in an overwhelming cloud of spicy, green, woody, resinous, forest-like conifer scent that accompanied me everywhere until my departure. This country smells like that. Therefore, compliments on the thematic implementation. Absolutely nailed it. Away with the artificial Dsquared woods I tested before this one came out. Away with the ridiculous "wood wood" from Miyake, for which even one "wood" is one too many.
Off to downtown Cologne, a memory spray for little money and every season.

For the record:
The bottle is nothing special, very closely modeled after the original, boring label; this scent deserved the bottle from He wood cologne... Unfortunately, you can’t have it all.
Sillage is quiet, longevity is remarkable.

Conclusion:
Natural, needly, cozy, unobtrusive yet persistent, bought it right away. Slight, not unpleasant proximity to pine needle bath additive. Deep nose Scandinavia.

1) I want to go to Sweden!
2) Your comment has moved the fragrance to my must-have/wishlist.
3) Pine needle bath foam, pine needle room spray - creepy and pretty outdated; at least I don't see much in this rather infamous scent direction anymore.
