Outlier
Most fragrance houses have a specific DNA and ATH is no exception. Usually, I'm not the biggest fan of his DNA, as many of his fragrances smell similar to me. He often combines bright bursts with a vanilla-amber heavy base. It's not citrusy freshness; rather, the synthetic musks give a perception of extreme brightness. Fragrances that exemplify this for me are "Hard Candy Élixir | Aaron Terence Hughes" and Slut Élixir .
That's exactly why Luna surprised me. Luna is the epitome of fruity rose layered over clean yet dark woods. It opens with a jammy rose. It's rich and opulent. Vanilla and frankincense act as a bridge to the base notes. A beautiful Thai oud oil is used in this composition. A fitting choice in my opinion. The oud is dark and rich without a trace of funkiness or barnyard notes.
