Its opening is an intense and sweet citrus explosion that, at times, evokes a curious banana noteāeven though it's not listed as an ingredient. This juicy freshness evolves into a warm heart where vanilla and tonka bean blend with subtle floral touches and subtle rum notes that lend a sophisticated and mature character, complementing the sweetness.
The base is built with leather, patchouli, and woods, anchoring the other top notes and uniting them with the house's signature musks. It might vaguely remind you of Erba Pura, especially in the opening, but here the citrus notes have a much more unique character, and it avoids the metallic and squeaky musks of Xerjoff's version.
Notorious is a dense, fun, and distinctive composition, ideal for captivating those looking for something different.
Perfect for spring, autumn, and winter, though it also works well on summer nights when applied sparingly. It boasts impressive longevity, lasting 10-12 hours, and powerful projection, even in cold weather.
It's a sweet, bold, rich citrus fragrance with a strong personality, sure to garner compliments and create a unique signature scent.
If the idea of Erba Pura interests you but you find the origina execution lacking, this may be a good option for you, specially if you're looking for a more masculine version (another user already built upon this idea, check Mitchcraft's review below).
It may occupy the same place in a collection as other releases from the brand, such as hard candy (sweeter, more gourmand, woodier at the base without leather) or slut/slut elixir (similar citrus but backed up with mint, base woodier because of patchouli and without leather).
Price is adequate for what it offers and how it delivers it. The best option, in my opinion, in the Erba Pura space.
