Sweetness is a delicate thing. A little too much of it, and even the most beautiful fragrance loses its appeal for me. So it’s all the more delightful when a perfume proves you can be generous with sweetness without losing your good taste.
Satin by Abdul Samad Al Qurashi has mastered this art remarkably well.
Here, a pronounced, elegant sweetness meets a subtle spiciness that brings just enough character to keep things interesting. Creamy, slightly powdery nuances join in too. Everything is beautifully balanced, and nothing feels overdone or forced.
What I particularly like is its distinctly feminine aura. Satin feels polished, luxurious and confident, without needing to push itself into the spotlight.
I can imagine wearing it both day to day and for a special occasion. It has enough elegance for a lovely evening, yet it’s by no means so formal that it should be reserved exclusively for special occasions.
And then there’s its longevity.
Sprayed it on in the evening, and I could still smell it the next morning. My first thought: That can’t possibly still be the same spray.
But it was.
Even after all those hours, the intensity was still remarkably present. Such staying power deserves recognition and, from me, a perfect score.
To me, Satin is an example of how a sweet feminine fragrance doesn’t have to be playful or heavy. It can also be grown-up, stylish and wonderfully balanced.
Not a loud diva. More like a woman who walks into a room and leaves an impression without even trying.
