Arrived in the Here and Now: Fougère without Soap! :-)

Well, I actually wanted to thin out my collection after a long break and then I stumbled upon this fragrance, which is rightly praised here in high tones. Three simple ingredients come together relatively linearly to create a Fougère-like accord. However, typical Fougère ingredients such as bergamot, lavender, geranium, and moss are missing here, which I personally find extremely pleasant.

Because of this, I never have the feeling of an old-school soapy aftershave. Batch No. 46 is practically caught between chairs, being very long-lasting for an Eau de Cologne and leaning towards a green-spicy scent with a very slightly sweet note at the end. Good perfumery can be that simple, even though it is the fragrance of a fashion brand that has never been one of my favorites.

The price is therefore very moderate, but Batch No. 46 is evidently becoming increasingly hard to find. So I had quite a bit of luck via Amazon! :-) Because as much as I have tested: I was never happy with the vintage fragrances that lean towards the barbershop corner and receive extraordinarily high ratings here. So we are moving in classic territory that has been modernly interpreted. Or in the modern fragrance school that has a classic touch. Very nice! :-)

I thought it was great! I preferred it over my Rive Gauche and let it go in the souk. It feels somehow fresher, "juicier."

I never would have expected something like this from the brand... But there are surprises around every corner, as we know. I have to admit, I’ve never really been into a Fougère until now.
