R'osa Acqua di Portofino 2016

There are rose perfumes in abundance, and every year more or less new ones are added.
Many find their admirers, many fall by the wayside.
The market for rose perfumes will always be in motion.

I also know and love many of them; some were quickly banished, others were just tolerated until they accidentally found a lover.
Because here too, every pot finds its lid.

So I set aside the sample of "R'osa" that was sent to me: yet another rose scent!
Yes, yet another rose scent - but what a scent!
What beautiful things has the Damask rose brought here?

The fragrance opens fruity and peppery. Mango and mandarin, both rather sweet, blend with the delicately smoky bergamot - a fruit cocktail with a hint of pepper.
This sets the stage for a blooming heart of Damask rose, jasmine sambac, and heliotrope.
"R'osa" lives up to its name: the rose dominates, yet adapts wonderfully to the already existing fruit cocktail and the other floral notes.
The queen of roses leaves her floral throne.
Now she is ready for the cuddle factor: which of the components stands for the softness, tenderness - simply the cuddly aspect - I don't know exactly.
Sufficiently fragrant vanilla and musk cradle what is already present; amberwood and amber ensure that the sweetness does not become overwhelming.
Thus, the fragrance does not come across as sticky-sweet in any of its development phases.

All in all, Acqua di Portofino with "R'osa" has created a not very exciting, but all the more embracing, extremely harmonious fragrance composition: a kind of cozy sofa with many pastel-colored soft cushions, in which one can sink and forget all that is cold and unfriendly.
A feel-good oasis that lasts full and warm for several hours and later leaves a fine scent trail: a memory of a light, warm cloak.

This sample will not be a "wandering sample." No, quite the opposite: "R'osa" goes on the wish list.
It won't always be sunny and warm: then it will be time for this fragrance.
