Apart from the last line, it sounds good.

The synthetic notes are quite overwhelming for me. It starts off so beautifully, though.

Such a shame that the chemistry ruins everything here. It could be done more delicately.

I'm pretty sure: under Lyn Harris or Delphine Thierry, this would have been a great fragrance.

Sounds a bit dangerous *tin foil hat*

Lana ;-) I’m not sure if the labdanum would be for me.

Was my Lana reference that easy to figure out?! ;) It's quite airy and light, especially if the synthetic notes don't come through for you...

We're in the same boat 😂 I tested it yesterday (and I don't have a final opinion yet, but I'm not feeling it too much; there's something about it that I don't like the longer I wear it. Probably around a 7 for me.)

Although I occasionally struggle with Cypriol, that could also be my 'artificial wood'.

I’m not exactly sure what it is either. Ambro - something, probably (But thankfully, definitely not Ambrocenide 🤣, because that would make my hair stand on end. And fall out.) There’s also a prickly synthetic wood in there, which I find just kind of mediocre. In the dry down, it unfortunately becomes too synthetic for me, in an unpleasant way.

That's exactly it: the longer it's on my skin, the less I like it. Something comes through that we both react sensitively to. I think I'm smelling Ambro(-fix? -xan? -xid?).

Too bad, I've already tried quite a few from the house and haven't been disappointed so far.

The brand has solid offerings. I don't find the scents particularly exciting, but they're consistently good. This one seems to be perceived very differently, so it's worth a try. :)

Looks like it. But it's also kind of nice; it's part of the fragrance magic… 🤗

Everything was fine until the synthetic labdanum came along.

I can be a bit sensitive sometimes, I admit it. And sometimes, synthetic notes are really not an issue at all. 🤷🏻‍♂️

They seem to vary greatly depending on the skin, either being strong or hardly noticeable at all.

Aluminum hat is good, I'm quite cheerful about it.
It wasn't really my thing either.

It almost hurts to read this… 😉 I love it, but I also don't have any synthetic scents in my nose. Thankfully. 😊

I'm sorry, but I'm sure it smells much better on you. There's a kind of synthetic note that develops unpleasantly on me, but smells great on others (Hi @Jeob!).

You manage to crush great hopes with just one line...
I'll still give it a sniff when I get the chance.

I understood you even without the wink emoji. 😉 Definitely worth a try, seems to develop very differently on the skin.

Your statement is great! It's interesting, I don't find the synthetic notes overwhelming at all, and I'm quite sensitive to Cypriol too.

Thank you! On my skin, it comes across as very synthetic, especially in the dry down. It's interesting how it's perceived so differently (or develops differently depending on the skin).

* Strangely, I smell things at the beginning that usually come out later: tonka bean, a lot of labdanum, a bit of styrax. All wrapped up in incense and dusted with pepper. Despite all the spiciness, the overall impression remains creamy. The dense veil lifts, and the scent becomes brighter and more delicate. I smell cardamom, whose sweetness touches my sugar threshold, while cinnamon sprinkles in. However, it never becomes edible. Caraway gets pretty lost on my skin. As the scent becomes increasingly woody and resinous, the synthetic cistus peeks out shyly, and my nose catches artificial cypriol. Until then, the synthetics were hardly bothersome; it could have been a CdG. From here on, the scent starts to annoy me, and by the time the amber note comes in, I'm out. At least it's not a super potent super amber. The sillage is somehow nice. After 30 minutes, the development is over, leaving behind a spicy-synthetic scent that keeps fading. Close to the skin, linear, pleasant.
