That one was a bit too subtle for me (vetiver?)-) too sharp. I definitely prefer other ones from Taha.

Sounds good, but if it didn't have "Oud" in the name...

It has to go on the ML! Thanks to you, I now know Malay-Oud. The freshness is lovely. And that gasoline-like opening!

MrtangiersMrtangiers 2 months ago
Yes, the opening isn't really that prominent in the scent; it's definitely more about the bright freshness.

It does. Though more like a Malaysian rainforest than a Northern European coniferous forest ^^

I would have loved to have exactly this black amber in the Black Gris by Ensar; then it would have been an outstanding fragrance ^^

*This is another beautiful release from Taha, where he shows me more than with any other fragrance that he can create not just pure oud or oud + X, but also a fully developed, almost classically constructed scent. It starts off very classically with sharp lavender, lots of oakmoss, and a hint of citrus. You definitely get those vintage fougère vibes. As it develops, it becomes woodier, darker, and earthier, with a certain herbaceousness from the absinthe coming through. The amber carries the whole fragrance, adding a dark minerality that blends in beautifully. At first glance, you might miss the oud, but if you're familiar with those green-blue Malays from Agar Aura, it suddenly becomes very present, similar to a Blu, with that minty freshness, bright jungle, and slight cola vibes. A super beautiful mix of artisan and classic fougère, perfect for summer too.
