I'm not a villain who smells like vanilla, am I??
Hey guys, today I'm introducing you to a vanilla fragrance, namely Vanilla Marble by Agonist!
I know that the scent sounds very wintry, but when I tried it here, it was only about 22 or 23 degrees, which was very pleasant, rather than languishing in the last few days at 35-40 degrees, where it felt like standing at the gates of hell and getting all that heat without even the slightest chance to cool down… yuck! Why can't it just be cooler all the time? But luckily, the heatwave seems to be over for at least a week or so! Well, we’ll see…
Sure, you’re probably going to tell me for the thousandth time that a cooler summer would only make me happy because I don’t have a girlfriend (yuck, I’ve mentioned that a thousand times too, so it’s my own fault if you say that, but at least it gives me good material for texts where you can roll your eyes :DD). You probably even think that I’m staring out from a dark little hole like a little villain, enjoying that all the couples would be sad when the weather is worse, mu ha ha ha. But that’s not true (not entirely! :D), I just don’t like extreme heat (or when it’s extremely humid). Well, maybe a hot summer would actually be more bearable with a girlfriend (uh, you know, shared misery is half misery?? :D), because among other things, you could do fun things together in the heat instead of just staring out from the little hole and wishing for icy cold, but still, hot is just hot and anything over 30 degrees is no longer a “nice summer” for me!
… and I keep rambling on… anyway, as I said: fortunately, it’s not hellishly hot right now, so I can try heavier scents without immediately suffocating. The only thing that such scents do to me is make me feel like I’d rather have winter and especially… of course… Christmas already… *sigh* still about half a year until this contemplative time… waaah, I want to set up my Christmas tree again!!! *sigh* (See, I’m making progress, I didn’t complain about not having a girlfriend, but because it’s not Christmas yet :D I’ll complain and/or grumble about women again in one of my upcoming comments, mu ha ha ha :DD).
Okay, enough nonsense, now let’s get to the scent!
**The Scent:**
The scent starts with Tiáre, which has a sweet floral scent (and I almost confused it with tiramisu because of the name… :D). But shortly after, an intense vanilla and a similarly strong almond appear. The almond smells nice and nutty, the vanilla is typically powdery-sweet. In the background, very faint and fruity scents occasionally come through, but they can’t be identified. The fragrance pyramid lists fig, but I can only smell it at all after I’ve read that fig is supposed to be in there.
After the fruity notes fade a bit later, the scent continues to smell heavier of vanilla and almond. Occasionally, earthy notes appear, which must be the patchouli, bringing a little variety. Otherwise, it mostly smells of vanilla and almond (and later almost only of vanilla), with the scent being quite powdery and soft as described, but occasionally it also comes across as a bit dry.
**The Sillage and Longevity:**
The sillage is above average, so you’re wrapped in a little scent cloud and thus easily noticeable nearby. For a vanilla scent, it lasts noticeably less than other vanilla fragrances, as it gradually fades after about eight to ten hours, which is still very good.
**The Bottle:**
The bottle is rectangular and slim. On the front, you can see the brand's typical and distinctive label, which takes up the entire front and lists the fragrance contents in uppercase block letters. I find the bottle quite nice despite its simplicity, especially since the label is something different. However, I find the fragrances with a black label a tad more beautiful.
Okay, so Vanilla Marble is a lovely vanilla scent. Sure, vanilla and almond are dream scent notes for many ladies, and this combination really does smell very good, but you have to realize that the majority of the scent actually only smells of these two notes (and much later, as is typical for vanilla, almost only of vanilla), so there’s a bit of a lack of real variety here, and the scent hardly differs from many other vanilla fragrances.
But aside from that, and considering the scent on its own, Vanilla Marble is certainly a very nice fragrance that can impress not only with its wonderful scent but also with its gentle feeling. Scent-wise, it definitely belongs in the fall and winter and can be used in these cooler seasons both alone (to snuggle up in a soft blanket or to cuddle with the cat) and for going out and smelling nice.
So, sorry if I complained about summer at the beginning. Unfortunately, I’ll complain again in winter because then I won’t have anyone to cuddle with, he he. Well, I do have the cat, but you know what I mean! :D Besides, the cat’s breath always smells so fishy when he stares at me sleepily and has to yawn, mu ha ha ha, yuck! :DD
So, that’s it again. The scent is nice and thus testable, and I’ve come to the end. So I wish you all a lovely evening, until next time :)

The scent sounds nice, but seems a bit linear and maybe boring?!?
