Now give that girl a break, will ya
I have great sympathy for Disney and for Cinderella, or Aschenputtel (not to be confused with Aschenbrödel). I also have great sympathy for affordable fragrances that carry me sweetly through various ballet classes and other sporty athletic activities. Personally, I have no problem finding and expressing the princess within me. And against all the adversaries, snippy envious types, and haughty despiser of my inner goddess, I have perhaps the strongest weapon at hand: genuine indifference. The same indifference I feel when people hurl condescending comments at me when I say that, YES, Cinderella is indeed a children's fragrance that I, YES, buy for myself because I, YES, really enjoy smelling like strawberries and fairy tales. Passive-aggressive has always been my strength. The fragrance, on the other hand, is neither passive nor aggressive. It smells like strawberry, that's it. Sweet, ripe, bubblegum-lollipop-candy strawberry. Not watery, not punchy. Just sweet, like strawberry children's tea, and somehow really charming. Whether children really need perfume doesn't interest me. That they want it, just like lipstick, pink dresses, and glitter tiaras, is often a fact, and if one wants to fulfill this wish for them, Cinderella is a great get-them-started fragrance. And for me, well, for me the scent remains a lovely reminder of even lovelier words from an infinitely lovely man who brings my inner Cinderella out time and again. So let's just let a fragrance be what it is: a fragrance. And for €3.99 (iParfumerie), no one, really no one should turn up their nose at this. I have gotten far less outcome from fragrances labeled as "perfume art" for far more input. So may you possess enough serenity to enjoy the little things in life. And honestly, who doesn't like bubblegum, lollipops, or at least candies? Come on! Give that girl a break...
