When it comes to masculine seductive scents, classics like Aventus, Fierce, or BdC immediately come to mind.
They give the wearer a fresh, masculine character and are not overly sweet.
That's why I almost always choose a fresh and sporty fragrance when dating; in a relationship, it can be a bit sweeter and more experimental.
Sporty, citrusy, fresh scents have the advantage that you can hardly go wrong with them, and they are generally well-received by most noses.
However, they sometimes lack a certain twist or the refinement that other fragrance directions often possess. Naysayers might even call them shower gel scents.
Al Haramain Signature Blue surprises with a very good BdC twin.
However, it is more of a fraternal twin, as it carries a lot of independence and a rebellious citrus top note.
Once it is captured and slightly muted by the woody base, Signature Blue develops into a true champion.
In fact, I even prefer the Arabic version from the middle stage over the original BdC EdT.
It is woodier, rounder, and more pleasing, boasts a good longevity of 8h+, and has a top sillage. For just under 30 euros, it is absolutely worthy of a blind buy. What more could a man want?
I indirectly received my first compliment from a young lady about the scent in the supermarket afterward. She whispered to her friend, "Something smells really awesome here!"
It couldn't go better for Signature Blue!
It has that sexy, citrusy-woody BdC DNA, which is certainly a guarantee for quick compliments.
The only downside for me is the cap, which sits too tightly on the atomizer and can pull off the spray head cover with careless handling.
This does result in a point deduction for the bottle, but it certainly doesn't diminish the fragrance.
In conclusion, I can only say that I will skip the significantly more expensive BdC in the future.
