Have never tried M7, so can't comment on how close H7 is to it. After H7's initial citrus-y and somewhat fruity opening it dries down to a great, warm woody vetiver scent. There might be a touch of oud - couldn't really be sure - but it's pretty subtle. Also has a very slight touch of sweetness. Quite a masculine fragrance. Longevity is quite good - got about a little more than 9 hours out of it. Projection was more on the average side; it's not room filling.
Given all that, H7 didn't really wow me. I mean, it's nice but if I wanted to wear a warm fragrance, I'd reach for Counterattack or Ambre Sultan more than I'd ever reach for H7.
