Sheep in wolf's clothing

I was curious about the indicated scent twin, therefore I ordered a sample of it and I have to say: Those who hoped to get Frederic Malles "The Night" at a much lower price, I clearly have to disappoint. The only thing that is identical here are the alleged ingredients.
But you don't get a bad smell, just a different one.
Sahara Nights (SN) starts off with a much fruitier opening, whereas Malle immediately stands out for its saffron and oud in a slightly fecal version. I mean to smell apple and plum here, paired with cinnamon. After about 10 minutes the rose also comes out. Also sandalwood is perceived, I think also amber, that rounds the whole thing off. But the scent is at no time heavy and not so powerful. Rather soft and cuddly. The frankincense recedes rather.
For me they are two completely different scents - fortunately. Something has to justify the high price for Malle's work of art. It will probably be the high-quality oud that I miss completely in Sahara Nights. Nevertheless, I would like to emphasize it once again: It's not a bad perfume. But different
