A fragrance mix please!
Hey guys! I'm still here, and as I said before I'm trying to write a bit more often again, but I've just been busy or dying because of the heat, like yesterday or last Sunday... and this is just the beginning, in a few days we will probably have to endure a longer lasting heat wave... "Summer is finally nice and warm!"???? Just go away with such sayings, uffff :D
So, today it's about an Alyson Oldoini fragrance, a fragrance brand that I saw in a hiking package a long, long time ago and that is probably less well known, I suppose. I have now tried the fragrance "Diafana Skin". And you know what? The composition of the fragrance somehow reminds me of my childhood or youth and the creation of mixed music cassettes... Huh? You're probably wondering now? Well, let me explain it to you.
Since my whole family is totally into music, we had a lot of music cassettes,... yes... cassettes! No CDs or even digital files... As I said, that was just THEN :D ... You still know cassettes, don't you? At this point you have to say "yes" so that I don't feel so old *sigh*.
Anyway, I'm sure it's the same for you that you don't want to listen to just one singer all the time, you'd rather have mixtapes instead, right? Well, and if you had a lot of cassettes like we did, you also put together a lot of cassettes yourself, with your favorite songs and stuff, and noooo, back then it wasn't like today on the computer, where you can copy MP3 files to a USB stick or a player in seconds (I know, for most people that's out now, because they'd rather just have Spotify :D), no, you had to do the whole thing in "real time". If a song was six minutes long, you had to wait six minutes for the whole thing to be copied onto the blank cassette. So creating a 90-minute cassette also took... 90 minutes, ufff... Everything used to be better? Hey hey, when it comes to certain things, I'm glad we live in a digital age :D
And you clueless young things now know what mixtapes are and also understand what these "Awesome Mix" tapes of Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy are supposed to be, yes, I had to mention something about comics and superheroes :DD
Well, why did I come up with that of all things?
Well, you know, with this fragrance I had the feeling that the scent doesn't really have a direction and doesn't really smell like anything in particular, but seems to have something of every scent in it. Whether soft powdery iris, leather, coconut, oud, flowers, aldehydes, incense, vanilla, amber, saffron, fruits... somehow there's just something of everything in it,... like a mixed cassette... (or also... a delicious mixed bag, hmmm.... that would be good now, you know that too, don't you? OR?!!!), or in this case... a mixed bottle :DD
Somehow the beginning reminds me of a mix of Chanel No5 and Prada Infusion d'Iris. However, this impression doesn't last too long, so the fragrance then becomes sweeter and more floral with a faint fruity background that makes it difficult to identify the individual fragrance notes.
Because all the fragrances are quite weak, or in other words, none of them really stand out. You may be able to detect some rose, but otherwise it seems as if most of the fragrances are simply too mixed together.
Later, leathery notes are added, some faint incense, then a little oud... well, somehow there seems to be a bit of everything, which is not a bad thing, of course, but it makes it difficult to identify individual fragrance notes, at least for me. Roughly speaking, however, you can at least smell the powdery notes and the aldehydes throughout the fragrance.
As described, it simply smells of many fragrances, which is not so bad in itself, but somehow you can't do much with the fragrance. It's not bad, but it's also not something that I absolutely have to have or that I wouldn't miss if it no longer existed. It's a casual leisure fragrance for me, but I wouldn't wear it on hot summer days like the last few days, it's too heavy and stuffy for that.
Well, as I said, the fragrance is like a mixtape for me... I wonder if there are mix fragrances? d
On the other hand, you can layer fragrances, like the Jo Malone fragrances, for example, but somehow I imagine it would be funny if you could go into a fragrance store and say: "Hello. I'd like some Allure Homme Sport, a little Prada Candy, maybe Guerlain's Robe Noir and Shalimar, a little Chanel No5... oh and please add something niche" :DD
Hey hey hey, have a nice evening, see you then :)

(or also... a delicious mixed bag, hmmm.... that would be good now, you know that too, don't you? OR?!!!), or in this case... a mixed bottle :DD
The fragrance:
The fragrance begins mainly with iris and also smells quite clean with a very light, sweetish background. The fragrance pyramid says iris root, but to me it definitely smells like iris (because to me an iris root smells kind of carrot-like). There are also aldehydes, although they are not that strong.

The sillage and the durability:
The sillage is weak, so it will only be easy to smell at the beginning and will hardly be noticeable later if you are not close enough to someone. The longevity is quite okay. I would say the fragrance stays on the skin for about six hours, depending on the dosage, despite the weak sillage. The bottle:
The bottle... wasn't there a photo of the bottle here on Parfumo? Anyway, the bottle is rectangular and angular. It is silver or chrome-plated, whereby you can see the glass of the bottle on the sides and thus also the yellowish fragrance liquid. The spray head has been integrated into the bottle without a lid. All in all, everything looks good. Conclusion:
Well, I found the fragrance a little difficult to describe, as it jumped from one scent to the next at times, before ending up mainly powdery, sometimes stuffy and with aldehydes on a path that it stayed on to some extent. As described, it simply smells of many fragrances, which is not so bad in itself, but somehow you can't do much with the fragrance. It's not bad, but it's also not something that I absolutely have to have or that I wouldn't miss if it no longer existed.
