The Embrace
Right from the start, I feel welcomed in the arms of Dia. The perfume greets me as if it is opening the gates to its fragrant realm, allowing me to enter my own emotional world, my state of being, and my rhythm.
Dia is creamy, intimate, and defensive from the very beginning. The light spiciness of the herbs immediately conveys a great warmth, while the flowers swirl around me like in a dance, and the powder falls confidently and steadily. The strong iris is contrasted by a rich rose paired with a ripe peach, which I see as a brilliant addition at this point. They bring back the necessary distance and prevent the scent from becoming suffocating. Finally, soothing woody notes and a hint of sweetness join in.
The components of flower, fruit, and spice in Dia are wonderfully balanced for my nose, and the transitions between the notes are perfectly interwoven and harmonious. Dia merges instantly with my skin and creates the feeling that this scent was made for me. I am pleased that this fragrance, despite all its creaminess and intimacy, is clearly perceivable and that its eternal longevity corresponds to that of a goddess.
When the name conjures up a goddess, it is certainly not an ethereal and fleshless one. Perhaps a goddess in the sense that here lies a woman resting in her innermost self. I feel similarly about Habanita, even though the two really don’t have much in common. Only that Habanita is more demanding and the journey definitely begins with an unknown outcome, while Dia pulls me a bit deeper into my own soul, embraces me, and whispers: Look inside yourself. It’s beautiful there.
