Has it been tamed ?

For something from Amouage that fits into the realm of being a little bit more resinous / darker as this one is...I would expect the performance to be better than that of Beach Hut Man...yet it's not.

Today for example, I sprayed this on around 8am and by now (2:18pm) It's almost completely gone, even from clothes..I get the lightest, faintest whiff of this but that's about it.

I'm not a fan of the whole reformulation theory, but when I tried this for the first time ~12 years ago, I feel like remembering this being a beast that I would categorize with LDDM, Black Afghano, and even things like Tobacco Vanille, Tuscan Leather, Amber Absolute from the same time period.

Back then, 1 spray almost felt like it was too much....this performed like Interlude did, yet today....it feels tamed. Now I did 3 sprays on clothing, and it's not even lasting more than your typical Creed.

Patiently waiting for Jubilation 40 to come out, to hopefully reclaim the fragrance I used to know.

I was wondering the same thing about reformulation so bought an old snap-cap version off of eBay a while back for a pretty penny to compare against my new bottle. They’re not worlds apart so I wouldn’t spend that money again. The scent is basically identical with the older one having a slightly deeper more resinous base. This gives it a bit more sticking power but only talking like 5-10% or so.
Neither are beasts. I’d say they sit well within the “classy” range where they don’t shout to be heard but rather pull in people close to you a little closer.
Spray without prejudice. You can’t overspray this one, IMO.
