glides in clear, concentric paths of light-filled
smoke.
Gently, soft leather
embraces in the glow of a sun-drenched room.

Dark your heartbeat,
a bitter shadow
pulses
in the black-green of the cypress trees.

When softly and brightly I finally
may surrender to long-awaited fatigue,
your sandy breath
brushes against me
in preparation for the next
time.
