For a long time, the bottle has been untouched in my fragrance cabinet. This morning, the time had come. It was to be worn.
After showering, a quick spray on the left and right, and a light mist in the hair; that should definitely be enough for an Amouage. Out to the car, first impression: oh God, too much absinthe, too piercing, too dark, yuck, this will not be my scent. Hopefully, no one complains at the office.
Two hours later at the office, my colleague across from me still hasn’t said anything negative, even though I was sure that my fellow humans must smell something, as this scent envelops me. I ask her if she notices anything unusual about me today (sounds silly). Nope, she says, nothing. Why do you have a new fragrance? Oh no, it’s fine, I reply.
As time goes on, I begin to notice the first stronger changes in MM. The absinthe is slowly fading, becoming slightly greener and warmer (lavender, moss?). But I still find the black Amouage too gloomy.
Around 3 PM, the transformation occurs. A completely different side develops. Tobacco and vanilla now come to the forefront, but always very lightly, not too dominant. The scent becomes more pleasant, wearable, yes, likable!
5:30 PM, out of the office, into the car, pick up the dog, head home. The scent reaches its peak. So many nuances blend together, as only Amouage can bind them in one fragrance. I like it very much. Really delicious, even though the start is bumpy and piercingly heavy. It’s worth giving the scent time.
Like good shoes that need to be broken in, but then fit like a glove.
Because of its mysterious aura, MM is also a great office scent. An English-speaking colleague recently said that it’s very inviting but at the same time gives off a clear "don’t f... with me" vibe :)
