I really don't like coffee at all, so I had already written off the scent. But the test blew me away, and I ended up getting a bottle. For me, with **Lustre**, it's clearly the best in the line.
I find the frankincense very, very subtle. Not typically Amouage strong, but still present. It's much more of a fine symbiosis between the woods and the frankincense rather than a standalone frankincense.
Amouage, the fragrance house that overwhelms many because of its complexity. The new Reception is an ultra-beautiful scent, but if it weren't for the coffee note (which you really have to like), it would get full points from me. The development is once again grandiose, just like what Amouage has created. Thanks for the great review!
I really can't stand gourmand notes at all, especially coffee and cocoa-they're my ultimate nemesis. But here, the coffee disappears really quickly, and what remains is a creamy, dark, and sweet wood scent. It鈥檚 very similar to Layton Exclusif in the air. H/S is also typically top-notch for Amouage.
How noticeable is the incense?
